Has anyone taken the VIP tour at Universal? My husband and myself are scheduled for it next Tuesday and I wondered what others thought of it?

Ever been spoiled? You're going to see nearly everything and hear the stories behind the movies made there. Be patient, they just went through a massive fire, but the tour (like the show) must go on. In some cases, you even get fed.

No worries. You'll have a great time. My experience was great, I'm a movie buff and it hit all the right switches with me.

I went about 2 years ago and honestly? It was okay. We were really excited as big movie buffs, but I felt like there should have been more. I love universal studios because I love the backlot tour, and this was just a little bit extended of that. It was cool to see the prop house, and we saw a set of some tv show that I don't remember.

I would never pay that much money for that again, I like Warner Brothers much, much better.

I'm a season passholder and did the regular tour on tuesday. They drive by it so you can see it, just no going through the king kong and earthquake of course.

I was looking at the Warner Brothers website and I wondered if you were speaking of the $45.00 VIP tour or the $150.00 Deluxe tour?

I've only been on the $45 one. I LOVE IT. I cannot say enough good things about that tour. You get off the tram and walk through sound stages, all the tour guides are GREAT. You almost always see celebrities (I've only been once where I saw none, and that was during a crazy amount of rain in 2005). Each tour is different because the tour guide will alter each tour to the interests of the group (which is never more than 12 per tram!) Plus they don't want kids under a certain age, which I personally think is a big plus.

I wonder if they'll cover the fire? I also wonder if the VIP tour had to be altered? It might not be worth the $$$ if you can't see it all.

Quake is a refurb. It will be back up. They are mentioning the fire, I don't know if they are allowed to go into the areas affected though.

Both tours are great btw. I went on the warner tour as well as Paramount's. Paramount doesn't offer theirs anymore, but Warner's was fun as well.

Thats good to hear. Will be doing this tour for the first time in July and had heard mixed reviews. I will be looking forward to this on our trip and hope to see some celebrities :hyper:

Paramount still do a tour, I am going on it in August along with the Universal VIP tour, Warner Bros and Sony tour.
