It says on WDW website that if you have dinner reservations at certain restaurants in MGM Studios you get tickets for VIP Seating at Fantasmic.

Anyone got any idea which restaurants and how early do you need to 1.Book and 2.Eat in order to see the show?

Most of your questions can be answered here:

What is the Fantasmic! Dining Experience?
The Fantasmic! Dining Experience includes dinner at one of the participating Disney-MGM Studios restaurants and reserved seating in the Fantasmic! amphitheater. As of this writing, only Brown Derby, Mama Melrose, and Hollywood & Vine are participating.

How do I book the Fantasmic! Dining Experience?
You can book the package now for dates 180 days in advance by calling 1-407-WDW-DINE.

How early do I have to get to the theater?
You must arrive at least 30 minutes before the show starts. There are enough packages available that the Reserved section gets fairly filled up, so if you want a better seat selection within the reserved section, plan to arrive more than 30 minutes before show time. Even though you still need to arrive early, you do NOT have to wait in line like those without reserved seating - you can just walk straight to the reserved section and sit down.

-------

My personal experience with the dining package is that the reserved seating is on the far right side of the amphitheater. You have to decide what's important. Extra time in the park and getting to arrive only 30 minutes before the show OR wait 60-90 minutes for an ideal seat in the middle of the amphitheater.

Also I read in my 2008 Unofficial Guide that to keep guests from coming in and ordering the cheapest thing on the menu jsut to get Fantasmic vouchers, they have a fixed-price diner in the package. It also says that if it rains and they cancel the show for the evening of your ADR that you are out of luck and they don't give you a VIP seating voucher for future showings.

The book also states this is a real dinner reservation that must be guaranteed with a credit card at time of booking and there's a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Prices:

Hollywood Brown Derby
Adult $46.99
Child (3-9) $10

Mama Melore's Ristorante Italiano

Child (3-9) $10

Hollywood & Vine Buffett

You do have to decide what's more important. The "VIP" seats are not very VIP. We have found that the second showing is ALOT less crowded, so better seats.

I thought it was on once at 7PM?

We are travelling in October and i'm sure the park closes at 8PM?

Yep there is no line to get in but the seating is all the way to the right hand side, I wouldn't call it VIP but you see every bit of the show. This does make it easier at the end of the show to get out quick which is an advantage to get to the the bus faster. 23 days and counting till we get to POP.:hippie: :cool1:

We did the VIP package on one visit and after we got to the show we ended up moving to other seats where we could see better. If you are planning to get to the show early you really don't need the package.
