VIP badges

Just to make sure I know where to go.... I can get the VIP badges at the Disney's Day of Christmas store at DTD right? Where else are they availabile? How long will I have to wait if I have to get them made because they don't have our names?

I can't remember if it was the Days of Christmas store-- it was the one right by a giant pin trading kiosk. Howeve, I didn't have to wait at all (at 5 pm on a Sat night). I did have to ask someone where they were, and if I could have them with custom names. They were not readily noticeable, but after a momentary panic, we got them, and now we wouldn't leave home without them! Have fun!

They are also available in MGM about halfway down the main street on the right. I believe that section of the store is called the 5 & 10.

Someone once mentioned the Princess version. Are these available in the same place or are they somewhere else?

I have ordered the Guest of Honor badges through Gifts of a Lifetime. I arranged it so they would be waiting for me at my resort upon check-in (all 9 badges were a surprise to the group who was traveling with me). Click here to see the Guest of Honor badge.

The Guest of Honor badges don't really get you anything. The CMs will talk to you and call you by name. It makes it fun to talk to them too, since you kinda know each other's names. I had a good time wearing mine on the last trip I took to the world.

And other guests will ask you questions, thinking you are a cast member. The sad thing is that I knew most of the answers, except for when Belle might be in France at Epcot! LOL I got a lot of questions about how much it cost to use Fastpass.
A real CM said that Disney ought to hire me. I answered they should for all the money I spent there.

The Christmas store in DTD is where I got mine. Go to the back and there's an area where they have other gifts that can be engraved like picture frames and photo albums. Last summer the badges were on the wall behind the engraving machine.
How long it takes depends on how much engraving they have to do before your order. I waited for a woman placing a big order, so had to come back after an hour to pick up the badges. Some people have no wait at all!

We also got them for our kids recently in the Christmas store in DTD. Several common names are hanging on the wall pre-engraved, so the wait may be very short depending on the names that you want. They did not have our boys' names, although they are fairly common names, so we had to have them engraved. Once the engraving started, it was only 3-5 minutes until we were done.

I found out that the Princess version ones that I asked about are from Disneyland. Does anyone know if WDW sells them also?

we had one made for our daughter(her name is Tiana) at mgm studios. the store is on the main strip as you come in on the right hand side just before the right hand turn that takes you down to Rockin' and TOT. I think it was like $5 or $6....can't tell you exactly how long if you wait for it; we ordered it in the morning first thing and just went by and picked it up later in the day.....they do make for nice little rather inexpensive souveniers...
