Violence and racism has no place in VMK

Look at these screens I took today after a game of battle.

I reported the girl and when I went to report the boy I got a message back about already having made a report and it would be handled in 24 hours.

Clicked it off before I took a screen...next time I will get screen of that message.

They disappeared when I was still in room but whether that was VMK removing them or they went into a game(they were in a que) I do not know.

Oh wow. I hate this stuff on VMK. People get so violent in pirates and use such horrible language, and I say I'm going to report them, and they respond "We're playing a game. You can't report us!" So I do the screen shot thing too, but it's still so frustrating when nothing is done about it. I hope these players are banned Sorry he said that to you Mal!

My screens are of violence I was talking with SkippyPaul after this and he said he has screens of someone being racist to him.

I hope that he will post them.

I dont understand why we get no character name. Obviously this is someone, and people like this, that we should avoid and warn others to avoid.

I don't get how people can even be racist in this game, seeing as we can make our characters look like whatever we want. Some girl told me I was ugly because I have a green tone, but I'm certainly not green in real!

And the threats and language in Pirates really irritates me. Once I was playing, and my teammate (not to be rude or anything) was not very good at the game. She got sunk right off the bat, and then kept typing a bad phrase to our opponents. I reminded her it was just a game, and she told me to shut up. I wish I had thought to report her. People take the pirates game way too seriously. It's one of the reasons my favorite game is Fireworks, no one can type at you while you're playing!

Anyway, more seriously, this stuff really bothers me. I was in the Fantasyland Courtyard today when they were speaking acts of some pretty horrible physical beatings and the language they used was awful. They were reported and within about a minute, they ALL disappeared at the same time.

It was two people not just one...and what was most disturbing about the whole thing is they thought it was truly funny and kept saying it over and over.

They did disappear but I am not sure it was because of VMK or because they entered another game.


I have come to expect "Rude" chatter in Pirates but I usually will report only very bad language and talk but not all rude chatter.

A lot although it is rude is not in my Opinion reportable.

I have never personally seen this type of violent talk(although other members have reported seeing it) I could not believe what I was reading.

Then to get a message from VMK that I had already made one report, yes agreed but not on both players.

I realize that if they read the Chat they saw both of them saying the violent talk but for record I think we should be able to report any and all involved. JMHO

That happened to a friend of mine earlier today. She reported a couple of players for a similar incident and got a message saying she had already made one report. It confused her because while the report was about the same incident, it involved two different players, therefore, two different reports.

Mal: just to clarify, I wasnt questioning whether there was racism in the game (I have seen it myself and been horrified) I was just curious as to why it was in this threads topic. Thanks for answering that.

As for what I have seen: I have seen, on numerous occassions, people who have black charachters be treated horribly, often with the "because you are black" phrase thrown in there. And one girl who said she was "south of the border" got ridiculed and tormented because of it. Truly sickening. How can anyone who currently loves Disney be racist? Maybe if the only Disney movie they have seen is Song of the South, but even then, it is a very analogy laden movie meant to teach rather that put down. Very sad
