Last time we went to WDW, we only connected to WiFi with our Laptop. On next year's trip, it looks like we'll have 3 iphones, 2 ipods, an ipad, a kindle, and 2 laptops (uh - but not necessarily all at once but various combinations). Any one with experiences on multiple devices in their villa? I know during peak times on our last trip the connection felt like dial-up :sad2:.

We were at SSR and Kidani in May and Wifi was much improved compared to earlier visits. We also had stupid phones then and never had any trouble with connection/calls.

The more people using the service, the slower it will be - that's especially true if the devices are going to be streaming video. Not all areas of a resort have strong signals, and you can't predict what your neighbors will be doing when you sign on, either.

You really won't know until you are there, but from recent reports, the resort wifi service has definitely improved since it was first rolled out.

We were just at BLT and AKV 2 weeks ago and there were times when four or five i-devices were going at once, and the wifi worked fine. I don't think there was any streaming going on, but the teens were doing online games/chat.

So as long as dh isn't streaming ESPN, and my teenagers aren't all gaming - checking my email shouldn't be a nightmare!

Glad to hear that things have improved. My luck I'll probably have the room farthest from the router!:lmao:

Unless, your neighbor's DH is streaming ESPN and their teenagers are all gaming! :rotfl2:

You are on a shared medium. :headache:

In May we had 3 iPads and 2 iPhones connected with no problems at all at both BCV and SSR. In June we also had no problems at OKW. Seems they might actually have the wi-fi issues somewhat fixed! We can hope!!

Definitely noticed an improvement in wifi service at both BLT and AKV, Kidani during our stay in June. I often will upload photos to Photobucket while we are there while preparing or doing a daily TR on the DVC News. We have an Nano Touch, an iPad and two Macbooks. Usually had only two or three going at a time.

It's true that during peak times there was slower service (evenings), but it was so much better than what we encountered in 2012. They definitely have been working to improve the service.

A lot of such WiFi locations will lock you out if you use too much bandwidth such as streaming video, I know this happened to us at VWL last year.

There is definitely a bandwidth issue going on cause I'd always have a full signal but connecting still quite time consuming , at the parks . IMO it wasn't to bad at AKV .

Public WiFi is great, but I always have my cell phone handy to toggle if I have to.

With wifi being poor in the past, we recently opted to purchase a data plan with our tablet. Has anyone used this and how well does this work?
