My family and I were lucky enough to reserve a two-bedroom through Disney. I am looking for anyone who has stayed here to tell me of a good room to request. We were hoping for a water view and were wondering if DVC memebers were given a more indepth layout of the building so that we would know what to ask for. Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

If you will look at the resorts board, there is a large thread addressing WL. Room locations have been discussed thoroughly there.

I know all about the WL rooms. My question is about the villas. If you know of another thread that has gone over this topic, please send me a link because I looked and did not find one.

Boy, Spiceycat, now you have me worried, if that is the view then I dont see it being worth the money I am spending. That is definately not my idea of a woods view. Whem we stayed at the Wl, we had a woods view that you could see the gyser from. How disappointed you must have been.
:(

Wildgrits....first off, welcome to the DIS Boards and the DVC section. I see you have only a handful of posts so we hope you'll keep coming back.

I just got back from the VWL. I requested a non-smoking, upper floor room (1BR) with a view on the lake side. I got all of that, though the view is really the woods, not the lake. There are a few rooms at the end of VWL closest to WL where you can see more of the lake. These are overlooking the "quiet" pool also.

We loved our "woods" view and didn't miss seeing the lake from our balcony. And the "quiet pool" was really quite noisy until pretty late at night. So we were glad to have a little distance from that.

The woods views on the "bus depot" side of the villas would be very nice as well, as long as you don't get those last couple of rooms with the view Spiceycat showed you.

We had a woods view when we were there last March and have nothing to complain about. As soon as we got into our room, we checked out the view of the woodland scene from out balcony and there were no fewer than 6 deer grazing in the woods. The furthest was around 30 yards away from our balcony.
It got to be a daily contest on who would spot the first deer of the day. Hard to believe we were in thick of theme park country!
The view is not spectacular but it is relaxing - a nice change of pace from the rest of the day. And the woodsy smell was awesome.
We also spent 20 minutes one evening trying to get an armadillo to pose for our camera, very shy critter.
Each of DVC sites has so many unique things to offer. I love 'em all!

Yes it was a sorry view - which is why I post and tell people about it so hopefully no one else will get it (unless there is nothing else available of course). I mean you are still at WDW so a bad view beats anywhere hands down (my opinion)
