We're planning on going to Disneyland in the beginning of October after getting off of the Wonder in San Diego. I believe there are only 50 DVC rooms, correct? So am I dreaming that there will be any availability at the 7 month mark?

Likely good chance as long as not seeking time around Columbus Day weekend. It was open early Oct at 7 months out this year except for GV.

Thanks. That's good to hear. Not Columbus Day, looking at Oct. 1-6.

I got 8 nights at the seven month mark for Mid February. It can be done. Good luck.

I'm 3 for 3.

Studio early May 2011
Studio late September 2012
1 bedroom August 2013 (Sun-Wed before D23)

I'm hoping to get the 1 bedroom again next August before D23 (Sun-Wed nights, then we'll move to Paradise Pier).

We stayed at VGC in October 2013 in a studio. We decided to rent points from a VGC owner to be safe using David's Rentals at the 10 1/2 month mark. But at the 7 month mark we checked for the dates we were interested in. We too had a cruise and we checked for dates before or after the cruise. On both dates we could not get the first day at VGC. One was the first weekend in October and the other was for Columbus Day weekend. We wanted a studio. Because our dates were not reflexible except for before of after the cruise we would have been stuck and only able to get 3 of the 4 nights for VGC. If we could have been more flexible and chose week days only, I doubt we would have had any problems.

Thanks for the reassurances. We were going to work out a transfer with someone we got friendly with on our last cruise, but I hear transfers are a pain.
