VILLAINS, ALIENS AND ALCOHOL, A JAN. 2016 TR W/ CLUB VILLAIN REVIEW *Final Update 3/27 *

Your last day, how sad
I hate the last day, and I especially hate when I start thinking about our last day on our first day lol. But our last day full day always ends up being one of our best :goodvibes This one was just a little sadder since we didn't have another trip planned. But now we do :cheer2:

I'm not so sure how I got so far behind on this thread! Anywho can't wait to read the end!

This is on my bucket list for our November trip!

This was all really good! Much better than we expected and we'll definitely go back here. I don't hear a lot of bad reviews of Pinocchio's but don't hear tons of good either so we weren't expecting much and were pleasantly surprised. The flatbread was a nice alternative to the QS pizza served everywhere.
Pinocchio's is one of my most favorite QS in all the land. I love the flatbreads! I am not a big fan of Disney QS pizza until I had the flatbread's at Pinnocchio's and Roaring Fork.

Most uncomfortable restraints anywhere.
This is what I hated most about this..ughh..experience for lack of a better word. I couldn't understand why in the world we were restrained!

Steve had been wanting to get me a new D & B purse on this trip as an early bday gift and I hadn't seen one yet that I liked, so we quickly stopped into Uptown Jewelers. My current Dooney and Bourke is/was the Runway Princess
I wish my husband thought I needed another purse hahahaha:rotfl2: I loooove the new HM Dooney's!:hmghost:

The couple behind us were from Ga. and were VERY unhappy with the weather, and were busy telling us so. They have NO idea how those of us "up north" manage! And forget those of you who deal with temps below 0 on a regular basis, ya'll are nuts! LOL it was funny. My sister moved to Ga. last July and all of a sudden, 50 degrees is horrendously chilly to her.
Being from Alabama this makes perfect sense to me! 50 degrees calls for heavy winter jackets and boots!

Shortly before our food came, our server brought out the pastry plate that everyone receives
This looks yummy! I hope to try to do a PPO BOG!

looks like you made the best of it with that morning. When they first announced the BOG breakfast it seemed to me like a cheaper option to get in MK before the official opening (vs CP or CRT) but with the latest price increase just doesn't seem worth it

That's great you got on Mine Train twice and also like your empty Fantasyland pictures!

As we left Fantasyland I started getting pretty sad. As I mentioned earlier in the report, for the first time in a long time we'd be leaving Disney without knowing when we were coming back. I know, "first world problem" and all, but I don't care. It was depressing! So even though we only had a couple hours left I was trying to go slow and soak everything in. It wasn't just about getting on a ton of rides. We passed a couple M & G's and watched kids with the characters. I really looked at some of the buildings we passed.

And then we rode HM, Space, Pirates, and BTMRR! We attempted AGAIN to get Steve on Astro Orbiter but, while the rest of the park was relatively slow, at 10:00 Astro had a 30 minute wait and even though I told Steve it was fine, we'd end our trip with that, he said no. It's my mission to get him on in November because I know he really wants to try it! After all those we decided to leave on a high note, but I wanted to get something sweet to take on the plane. We hadn't been in Big Top Souvenirs on our last few trips so we took a walk over there to get something from Big Top Sweets.

I looked at everything they had at the bakery counter and decided on this

Um.....I apologize for the missing ear in the picture.....I actually forgot to take one until I started eating the cookie in the airport :rolleyes1 I expected this to taste like your everyday big cookie but it was like 10x better! Of course the parts covered in chocolate were better but the whole thing was delicious. Definitely getting another one when we go back! Plus they have a great selection of souvenirs, which I wish I took pictures of.

We headed towards the front of the park. When we got to Main St. we were lucky enough to catch the Citizens of Main Street performing

Notice they all have their winter coats on? It was COLD! This was a great ending to our morning and our trip, such a treat to see them performing by the train station. Something else we either walk right by or only watch for a minute when we're with the boys.

Sadly our next and final ride was on the monorail back to the Poly. We collected our bags and took a seat, waiting for the ME. I was looking forward to seeing the boys of course, but in truth I would have been fine with another night in Disney! But Chris was ready for us to come home. He'd been face timing us a lot........truly, a lot. No tears but I could tell he was anxious for us to get back.

I was so sad as we sat waiting for the ME I didn't even take any pictures of the front of the Poly! Luckily we had no issues with our plane home; no delays or weather issues, no January snow waiting for us. In fact, we've had no December, January, or February snow! Very strange for where we are in NY. However, as I sit here typing this on March 18th, they are saying we're getting a boatload of snow on Sunday :scared1: I knew it was coming, we weren't getting away that easy!

UP NEXT: HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN AND FINAL THOUGHTS

I'm not so sure how I got so far behind on this thread! Anywho can't wait to read the end!
No worries, but I'm glad you're here again :goodvibes

LOL I completely understand! When I was in college my parents and my sister moved to Ga. (then they moved back to NY). My father was so confused when everything closed down over a dusting of snow.......until he realized there aren't any plows down there and nobody knew how to drive in it! This year my nephews got sent home from school early, around 1:00, because there was the possibility of flurries at 6pm. Up here they get sent home at 11:30 if there's 3 inches on the ground by 10 with another few inches expected!

BOG prices weren't half bad in the beginning, and Steve and I really didn't mind spending the $$ this time in order to get in early. We also had AP's which I didn't mention so only being in the park a couple hours didn't use up a day on a ticket. But $24.99 for adult and what is it for kids now, $14.99? Nope. If it's someone's first or only trip I'd tell them to just do CP and see some characters. At least they can eat as much as they want!

Mine Train isn't my favorite ride but I do enjoy it. Definitely not enough to stand in the crazy lines it gets, but there are a couple points where you get some very nice views of New Fantasyland from it :)

Sounds like a great last day. Really like the idea of just taking it all in. I certainly don't do enough of that. Good luck with the snow today. We're getting a bit of it later, but it should be too warm to cause too much harm. Hope you fare as well.

Last year when Steve and I did the KTTK tour, we learned all these little details from around the park. OK I knew most of them, but mostly from reading about them. I'd never taken the time to "find" them in the park until the tour. It's really worth it to slow down once in awhile......just another perk of a kid-free trip ;)

Good luck with the snow today
As usual for this winter we got less than a dusting! Hope you got the same!

It's like they were personally bidding you adieu :o
I love that :goodvibes

It's always nice to take some time to just soak up the details and take in all that makes Disney more than just an amusement park, and getting to see the Trolly Show on your way out is just a perfect ending!

Sorry Steve didn't get on Astro Orbiters though ... on the flip side, your cookie looks really good!

Glad your trip home went smoothly ... and that the snow turned out to be no big deal. Really can't complain about this winter after last year!

We certainly tried a good number of times! But it's fun to have something to look forward to for next time. And surprisingly since it's just a cookie, it was delicious
Really can't complain about this winter after last year!
Very true, but come November it's going to make me VERY nervous for next winter......... :scared1:

First world problem or not, it's one I think almost all of us here can relate to! It's an AWFUL feeling!

Um.....I apologize for the missing ear in the picture.....I actually forgot to take one until I started eating the cookie in the airport :rolleyes1
Totally understandable.

I expected this to taste like your everyday big cookie but it was like 10x better!
Because it's a DISNEY cookie at your sitting in an airport! Of course it's going to taste like MAGIC! :goodvibes

What a cool way to wrap up your trip! :cutie:

This was a great trip report! I'm absolutely envious about your CV experience! I sure hope they continue to have it until our next trip!!!
While reading a lot of trip reports, I'm definitely realizing I need to really stop & enjoy moments in the park. I know that I travel over 4700 miles to get to WDW, so I'm determined to make the most of it by powering thru each park. Hopefully on our next trip, I'll make more time to soak it all in!
Thanks again for sharing your trip with us all!

Another wimpy reply after getting behind on THIS tr too...:sad2:

- LOVE your new D&B! When those came out, I loved the print and the size of that particular one, but like most things, I couldn't commit to buying it. But, when we're there in December and the new It's a Small World print is out, I'm definitely getting one of those!!

- I can't stop laughing at the Winter Trolley conga line. I'm a child. I love them in their cold gear, though, they look so cute!

- Your Citricos meal looks so good!! We're working on daily plans for December since MVMCP has a 12/22 date and tickets will probably go on sale in April. On our list I have a couple of days with "monorail resort dinners or ??" typed up, so it might have to be in the running.

- We did Stitch for the first time (well, DH and the kids' first time ever...I'd done Alien Encounter before) and we were in there with a tour group that kept randomly screaming at the top of their lungs for no reason, so the kids couldn't hear anything that was going on...and they want to go BACK ON IT AGAIN. Ugh. Alien Encounter was better, Stitch is...disappointing. The little blue guy deserves better!

I know I had more thoughts, but have already forgotten them. I'm the worst.

First world problem or not, it's one I think almost all of us here can relate to! It's an AWFUL feeling!
Thank you :flower1: It really is! It's like I'm afraid the parks are going to disappear before I get to go back or something......

Ha ha, that's why ::yes:: !

And thank you so much for reading along! I'm crossing my fingers they keep going with Club Villain, too. So far it's on through May so we can only hope! It was definitely the best special ticketed event we've ever done and the more reports I read from people who've done it since we have, the more I want to do it again :goodvibes
I'd be hesitant to go slow if I traveled as far as you do! It's worth it though, but also easy to forget once you're there.

Another wimpy reply after getting behind on THIS tr too...:sad2:
You were busy yesterday!
LOVE your new D&B!
when we're there in December and the new It's a Small World print is out, I'm definitely getting one of those!!
Thanks! I haven't seen the Small World one yet, going to have to look that one up!

I say do Citricos ::yes:: I am really wanting to book it again for our Nov. trip but Chris wants Narcoossee's. Not that we can't do 2 signatures, but I have way more restaurants on my list than we have time for so I know I'm going to have to cut some, and I'd really rather do Citricos again. I mean we loved Narcoossee's too but Citrico's just stood out so much and I'm craving that Kalamata olive bread and that salad :cloud9: We've also found that we enjoy a good number of resort restaurants, even though it does mean losing some park time.........

LOL I'd be really mad at the tour group as it's their fault you now have to go on Stitch again! Wish I did Alien Encounter, and I wish I knew why I never did :scratchin I agree it could be so much more than it is and I'd love to see a great attraction featuring him :stitch2:

Well, as I said in my last post we arrived home with no issues. Unlike my friend who just returned last night from a Spring Break trip to the World: their plane down was delayed almost 5.5 hours, and then their plane home yesterday was delayed almost 2.5 hours. In both cases it was due to weather in Orlando although it appeared to just be run of the mill thunderstorms. But our plane wasn't delayed coming home in January, so that's all I care about!!

This was the longest we'd been away from the boys and even though I was fine all during our trip, now that we were home I was anxious to see them. My mom was at our house with them when we got home, around 6pm. Ricky came downstairs first, said hi, grabbed an ice tea from the fridge and went back upstairs. Okay....... Then all of a sudden a rocket shot out of the living room and plowed into me-at least my youngest missed me! Here's a picture of him with the marionette we bought him in China. I think I mentioned this early on in my report; he plays with these every single time we walk past China in Epcot on every single trip, and it was one of only 2 things he asked we bring back for him

I assumed this would sit idle in his room, but every single friend he's had over since we've been back has picked it up and "walked" with it :thumbsup2 Now Chris says he wants some "little friends" for his orange bird when we go back, meaning the smaller marionettes. Every time he says this I can't help but think of Al Pacino in Scarface, "Say hello to my little friend" :rotfl2:

Anyway, that's it! Once again we had a wonderful adults-only trip and are looking forward to another one, hopefully sometime in the early part of 2017. In the meantime we're all going back for Thanksgiving again this year :goodvibes Thank you all so much for following along with me for my 1st (sort of, since I have another going at the same time) TR! These things are addicting to write; I think I'm hooked now!

ARIANE

I think I'm hooked on your reports too! Thanks for letting us see how good kids free can be.

Great TR. I have enjoyed reading it. Maybe some day we will take one as well!
