Villa Sleeping Arrangements for Family of 4 with 1 Boy and 1 Girl?

Our kids rarely complained, but when they did, we just said, "Deal with it".

Then, they got over it.

My kids are only 7 and 5. DH and I split up and I sleep with DD, and DH sleeps with DS. Otherwise, the kids wouldn't be sleeping at all, lol.

My son is 12 and daughter is 7 and they still sleep in the sleeper together at times. We do prefer the 1bd with the sleeper chair, but when we don't book it, they have to make do. They haven't complained...yet. Maybe because they know it wouldn't matter. They get what they get.

But I will admit that I started researching a solution when I had to sleep with my daughter one night - she was 6 and we were in a regular hotel room and the beds were only doubles so I was afraid that there wasn't enough room for my son and her to sleep together since I always put a divider (pillow) between them. I thought it would be fine and I would cuddle with her....seems harmless enough.

Anyways, within an hour of my daughter falling asleep, she would make sudden movements - she would be fast asleep but would suddenly kick or swing her arms. By morning I hadn't slept a wink. I mentioned it to husband and son and they started laughing at me. :lmao: They thought it was strange that I was at the very edge of the bed while my daughter was curled up in a cosy ball. They were not aware of what transpired over night. :lmao:

My son did mention it but he didn't make such a big deal about it so I didn't think it was that bad. I guess he got used to it and just slept through it.

So, I would like to get a solution as well since I don't think my son should have to be subjected to her crazy sleeping habits. :lmao:

The strange thing is that at home, she sleeps quite calmly...I guess she's just more comfortable with having her own bed. A few times when we have the sleeper chair, she would be in the sleeper sofa and when I check on her she hasn't moved at all. I suppose she just doesn't like anyone sleeping with her.

We have that problem with our ressie for April at BWV, my DS is 11 and DD is 10 and at first I told them they needed to work it out and sleep on the SOFA together. Well, after much complaining about being kicked in their sleep, snoring, and just plain bugging me; I discussed it with DIS veteran friends and decided I am shipping the air matress and pump, bedding, and packing tape down UPS with a return label the ship it back home on our return. Now they just have to draw straws to see who sleeps on it the first night then they will switch each night. You'd think that would make them happy, think again. Hopefully they will get sick of that and just sleep on the Sofa together. I am not giving up the king bed this year; I got spoiled last year at AKV with the sleeper chair and we only get to go once a year now and I want to be pampered any my DH and I want a bed and room of our own. I finally told them if they want to stay at BWV they need to deal.

The first time I tried sleeping with DD (now 8) and DH tried sleeping with DS (now 10) we completely understood why when they were in the same bed, they did not get any sleep. They were all over the place, kicking, rolling, bumping into us. They have never been able to share a bed and never will.

At this point, DD is always happy with an air mattress or even a sleeping bag on the floor, and until that changes, that's what we'll do. We often stay in 1 bedrooms in Marriott brand hotels and we have the same issue. We're looking forward to staying at OKW or AKL and making use of the sleeper chair.

Oh and that's why the bunkbed rooms at WL were perfect. Except of course for the fact that we didn't have a separate bedroom. Wish they'd add that option into some DVC villas (other than THV)!
