Hi Everyone, We are renting a villa from an owner in England. He has sent me his bank information so I can deposit the rental fee directly into his account, but I have never heard of the bank he sent the information about. I would assume that I would have to go to a bank branch and make the deposit?

He doesn't have it set up to where I can use Paypal or a credit card, only said that I can either mail him a check or deposit directly into his bank account. I need to pay in full since the rental is for January. Mailing a check is my only option right?

being on the other side of things (making payment from uk to us) my bank will do an automated transfer as long as you have the correct info, ie account number, sort code, swift code.

A US check will be no use to a UK owner unless he has a us bank account.

as him whether he has a US account, if so you can pay him that way. If not, as your bank how you make a sterling transfer. We used to bank with Wachovia and they always helped us out with any questions!

good luck!

He should have a US bank account, as he has to pay bills in Florida. We have villa and we always ask Americans to transfer payment into our US account.

He does have a US bank...It's SunTrust bank, but what I don't get is we don't have a SunTrust branch anywhere in our state, so how do I get the money to his account?? I feel totally stupid about this!! Is there something easy I am missing????

Ok, he sent a routing and an IBAN number. So can I just go to my credit union and have them transfer the money into his account? As you can tell, I am totally clueless on doing it this way. :sad2:

Yep, take all of the account information that he sent to you to your credit union and they will know what to do to make an electronic funds transfer from your account to his.

BTW, SunTrust is a big bank in the southeast and south that's headquartered in Atlanta. I'm pretty sure that their regional Florida operation is headquartered in Orlando.

Ok, thanks for the information. I just got back from my credit union and they have a $15 fee for the transfer, so I think I will just put a check in the mail. At least now I know how to do if I ever absolutely have to.
