viewing nighttime fireworks from California Grille at the Contemporary

We have a 7:40PM reservation at this restaurant on a Friday night in May. Any thoughts on viewing Magic Kingdom fireworks from this location? Also, what's the best way to get back to Caribbean Beach resort after dinner?

The last time I ate there (Oct) we had a 7:50 ADR w/ Wishes at 8:00. After we sat down and ordered our drinks, we got up and went outside to their viewing platforms. They have 2 platforms to go to so there is plenty of room.

After dinner you can walk the short distance to the MK and take the bus to your resort. Or you can take a $10-$15 cab ride.

Great viewing spot! During your meal, as said, you can get up and go to the platform form viewing. It is an outdoor platform and they pipe in music to the show. If you decided to stay in the restaraunt and watch it, the music is piped in there and the lights are dimmed.

I was under the impression they had discontinued this.

Am I totally off base? Did they stop it and restart? I've really wanted to eat during the fireworks, but haven't attempted because I thought they no longer piped in the music.

The music was there in Oct 2005 on the viewing platform. I don't know about inside the CG though.

I also was under the impression that the platform was no longer open. Last time we watched from the 4th floor platform outdoors. We got there early and got to sit on the front bench. The easiest thing to do is to call the California Grill and ask!

I just did this in February. They did dim the lights and pipe the music in. It was very nice. Eventually we went out to the roof top to watch the rest of the show. I don't know about 2 outside places to view, but we went out to one pretty good sized rooftop area. I thought it was great!

You have to be eating at CG to see Wishes from the platform outside CG. They no longer let everyone up there.
