DH went to the dentist today who told him that if you get to Epcot early enough, and ask a customer service rep, they take you out to the control area where they launch the fireworks from about 30 minutes before the show and the firework technicians give you a little lecture and you can watch them launch. I'm assuming it is where the control booth is, and not where the fireworks are actually shooting up into the sky.
I am skeptical, but DH says that Dentist has done it the last two years. You need to ask early enough, and apparently off duty CMs and family get first priority, but you give the customer service person your cell phone number, and if they have space for you, they call you to meet them and take you out to the control area in a little boat. So DIS experts, was Dentist pulling DH's leg? I've never heard of this before. But maybe Dentist is a VIP or he shells out the cash for the privilege. DH wants to try when we go in October, but I don't think this exists so I'm checking here first. Or maybe it is a special secret and I'm spilling the beans?
