Here is something else I'm trying to figure out (I'm in wedding mode today so I'll be on these boards all day:lmao: ). Is videography really worth it? How many times have you girls that have already been married actually watched your video?

Give that my BEO is already sky high with no videography on it I'm just wondering...

A wedding with no video?! BLASPHEMY! :scared1: I think you will regret it if you don't do video. There are plenty of outside vendors that aren't too expensive. It's all you have left when all is said and done. Only half of my video is done so far and I watch it every day :cutie:

Well, we haven't had our wedding yet, but here is my theory on videography..

Scenario 1: You get videography. You're out about $2000 right now. But you have this amazing record of your wedding day. You may be a little tight with the budget, but you have the video.

Scenario 2: You don't get videography. You save $2000 right now. In 10 years, you want to watch your video on your anniversary. You don't have it. In 10 years, would you trade $2000 to go back in time to have your video?? Will you REALLY miss $2000 over the next 10 years?

I vote for scenario 1. :thumbsup2

:lmao: Yeah I guess it is kind of "unheard of" these days. I think I would regret it...especially if something juicy happens!

Very good point - I like the scenario examples!

I didn't have it. Yes, shocking I know! LOL

I went all out for photography instead, and a year later I still don't regret it.

So I think it's a personal thing. :)

We struggled with this too. We splurged on our photography (over 7K) thinking that is the most important part of the day but in the end we added video for another 5K. It's a spicy meatball but what made us change our mind was thinking about how much stuff we will actually miss on our wedding day. I mean for most of it you are taking photos, being ushered around, or talking with guests. We bought our raw footage as well just because we want to see all the little odds and ends of the day.

Our wedding is still months away but I think we are making the right decision for us.

I would go for the videography. Personally I know I would watch the video all the time. But even if I didn't watch it all the time, I would still get it because the day will go by so fast. I think it'll be nice to be able to go back and see things that maybe you missed, or see yourself walking down the aisle.
I just think its a great way too look back on that day.

We're having a friend tape the key events with my camcorder so we can send it to the grands who cannot travel down to the wedding and so we have a video for us, but we're not paying anyone to do it. We know we will never watch it enough to make it worth the investment. I'm a photographer myself so I know I will sit and thumb thru the album way more than I will a video. That and with technology always changing an album is my only guarantee it'll be around for awhile unlike a video or DVD.

I also debated over this, but after seeing all the STVS sneakpeeks I knew I had to have a video. Because, there are NO second chances. I think it will be great to look back for years to come and see his reaction when he sees me come fown the isle, and hear his voice as he says his vows. I think pictures are great, they capture a moment, but a video captures a whole event!

Seeing all the sneak peek videos on here certainly makes me think. But, I don't think it's something I'm interested in doing. I think that if you have even a little hankering (is that the right word?) for a video of it you should try to make it happen. You don't want to regret it.
