Video Camera question

I would love to get a digital video camera that burns DVD's or has a hard drive. I have one now that uses tapes and it is annoying to convert the files to be burned to DVD. I'm thinking that the DVD or hard drive ones might be easier to use. I'm not really into video editing, etc, I just want to get some great movies of my kid at Disney and be able to get them on to DVD's or youtube for friends and family to enjoy. Any ideas? Oh yeah, I'd like to spend under $500 for this baby! Is this the right forum for this question?
