Hello, new person here, just joined.
We are coming over from the UK in October and my husband and I would like to dine somewhere really 'upmarket'. We were thinking about trying for the Chef's Table at Victoria and Alberts. Has anyone dined there and is it recommended. Are there any other places such as Bluezoo that people have been to? We will be staying at the Hilton at WDW in Lake Buena Vista.
We will be bringing our son Matthew (6) his very best friend in all the world, Abigail (11) and my mum - so we have our own tried and trusted babysitter!
Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Chef Table but have read other post's that say it was best dining that they have experienced at WDW.DW and I have dined at Shula's,if you enjoy a great steak and great surroundings and top notch service give them a try.Have a magical and safe vacation. :goodvibes :goodvibes :earsboy:

Thanks danny1649.
I have only eaten at Shulas for breakfast when I was in New York with my best friend (DH sent us for my 40th birthday for a Christmas shopping trip!). DH thought Shulas might be nice, but steak is not my favourite meal. We might try to get the Chefs Table and if not, take it from there.

If you can't get the chef's table, dinner in the dining room at V&A is very, very nice. If you do a search on "V&A", you'll get lots of info.

Dining at V&A is a wonderful experience and if you can do it you will have a great time even if you cant get the chef's table.

Hello Elbee

This last January we (daughter age 20, wife age 45, self age 48) dined at the chef's table. For openers I can say the experience was extraordinary.

We were at the chef's table for 13 courses, nearly 4 hours, with the wine pairings for each dish. We checked in and the Maitre d'Hotel escorted us to the table in the back of the kitchen. The table and area is very nice, and it is perhaps 3 feet from the closest chef. The chef de cuisine introduced himself, and asked if we had any preferences or allergies. We said no, and his staff produced our meals individually. The main courses were the same for all 3 of us, but the appetizers and desserts were unique for each of us.

My wife is passionate about cooking, so after she warmed up and felt less self concious, she was standing next to the closest chef through all preparations, asking him about all kitchen activities. He was wonderful, and each chef at some time came to us and talked, WITH GREAT PRIDE, about their work and the kitchen. The serving staff were also wonderful. Overall, it really was a unique, once in a lifetime type event.

We have dined before in the restaurant at V&A, and it was wonderful. The chef's table, was even more so. If you're passionate about good food, and would enjoy the floor show in addition to the food, I would highly recommend it. Our 20 year old college sophomore enjoyed it as much as her parents, so apparently it was quite an experience.

Good luck.

As you can see the Chef's table is quite an experience!!! But as eleanor and twocat suggest, the main dining area is just fine if the Chef's table isn't available. Don't forget tho that you need to dress up for V&A and even at the main area, the meal will be 2+ hours long.
Bluezoo is nice and the seafood good, but it isn't up to V&A when it comes to being "upmarket"

we did not manage to get the Chefs Table, but we did get in at the normal V and A so looking forward to that.

Thank you so much for that link :love2: - the food looks fabulous. We are really looking forward to doing this. They obviously do not mind people taking pictures which is nice.
