For a Disneymoon, we were thinking V+A's. With wine parings, tax and tip, it winds up being $470some dollars, I think I figured out.

However, we've heard wonderful things and DFi really wants to go. That being said, our other option is to get the Deluxe Dining plan and enjoy lots of Sig Dining experiences (two credits) and nice sit down romantic lunches/fun character breakfasts.

What do you guys think?

:lovestruc

Vic & Al's is a lot but well worth it, esp. if you like trying new things
No other signature dinner at disney will be as romantic

that being said, if its going to be your only sit down while there i say go with the deluxe plan....You’ll have more fun going to a lot more restaurants and celebrating all week long instead of one great night

Getting the regular Dining Plan plus paying OOP for V+A's would equal about the cost of getting the Deluxe Dining Plan. Since we're getting V+A's one night, we would be able to use one of our TS for a Signature dining another night.

Hmmm... I love TS restaurants though.

It's do I want to try lots of signature dining + lots of restaurants or do I want to do the normal DDP + V&A's, I suppose.

Anyone else make that decision for the Disneymoon?

V&A's may be the best WDW has to offer, but you can get as-good or better multi-course gourmet meals for less money at the top restaurants in most major cities, IMHO. ;)

I think spending the money on the Deluxe Dining Plan will give you more bang for your buck - you'll get an entire trip's worth of great meals instead of just one spectacular meal (and who wants to put all that pressure on a single restaurant to fulfill one's dreams? :cutie: )

You make a great point. I am going through allears.net right now to get an appromixmate guess of how much we'd pay OOP :)

We want to go to :
Victoria and Albert's

Le Cellier
California Grill
Bistro de Paris
Jiko
Poly Luau
The Wave
Tutto Italia

DFi wants to go to:
50s Prime Time Cafe,
Crystal Palace
HAVE TONGA TOAST
but that doesn't really keep with the romantic theme of the rest of the restaurants :yay: !!!!

If it's cheaper, I may just put the 1000+change we would have put on the deluxe dining plan on our honeymoon registry gift card (or separate disney gift card) and use that as our food budget. That way will have prealotted it, so we won't be as frugal with our dinners (this is what we wanted to avoid by doing a dining plan!) We always wind up getting the cheapest thing, even if it isn't what we want.

I'll let you know what I come up with!

We really want to splurge on our wedding/honeymoon trip. We got lucky and have booked the Chef's table! We're going to get the wine pairings.

Our philosophy is that we want this to be super memorable and that V and A is worth it for us. But then Rob is an amateur chef and we both love wine.

I think if you want to try Victoria and Albert's, well what better time?

We love wine too... although no chefs here! What are you doing for the rest of the week? Any other dining or signature dining experiences???

We're going to be there for 9 nights/10 days. Our welcome dinner is at the California Grill

We have mostly table service ADR's: Kona Grill, 9 Dragons, San Angel Inn, Le Cellier, Princess Breakfast (one of our guests has a 5 year old and we were invited to join them at the Magic Kingdom/Cinderella's table), Biergarten, Jiko, Tokyo Dining, Narcossees, Rose and Crown, Wolfgang Puck Dining Room, Chef's de France (which we'll change to Bistro de Paris at the 30 day mark), and Tutto Italia.

Actually, I guess it's all table service except for the Biergarten.

Lovely! Are you doing dining plan or deluxe dining plan?

Actually, neither...we purchased the DDE to go with our annual passes. We didn't like the idea of points and being tied down.

We're big V&A fans. I think it's a wonderful experience, and a very romantic way to celebrate special occasions. We went the night after our wedding, and don't regret it for a minute.

They take such wonderful care of you (I got a little footstool for my purse!), and the food is absolutely incredible. We happen to love food, and trying new things, and exploring flavour and texture (nerds) so its a perfect match for us.

If it sounds like something you might enjoy, go for it. When else will you be on your honeymoon?

And Tonga Toast? Totally worth it!

We decided to do deluxe dining, and have SIX signature dining experiences plus the Poly luau plus 7 brunch type deals... and using our snacks to "treat" around the world. Josh wants to do a vow renewal at Disney (i wanted to get married there!) on our 1st or 2nd anniversary and says we will celebrate with V&A. I think it's a perfect compromise.

Thanks everyone for your input!
