i want to make a reservation, but the lady said that i will be eating with 8 other ppl, isn't this strange? i don't really prefer to dine with ppl that i don't know....
can anyone share their experience? what if i and those other ppl does not share same taste??? what if i eat very slowly?

We've only dined at the Chef's Table once but it was just my husband and me. From everyone else who has posted it is just for your own party be it 2 or 10. Perhaps the maximum is 10. When we had our dinner, it was a round table. I've since seen a picture with a rectangular table that looked larger.

Sure hope the policy hasn't changed...but I doubt it. I'd call back and check. Perhaps you just had an inexperienced CM.

the cm that i talked to, she said that since chef table is very popular,, they are now allowing more ppl for the same seating, whether or not u know those person or not.
i wish this is not true

I hope not, too. It would certainly lose the feeling of intimacy if that is the case.

Were you speaking with Disney Dining or did you get through to the # for reservations for V&A? If it was DD, I think that there is hope that the person you spoke to is wrong.:D

Good point. If this came from Disney Dining, then best to call V&A directly. You can get them by just calling the Grand Floridian.
And let us know the results. I certainly hope this is NOT true. Could wind up being almost like one of those tables at a Japanese Steakhouse!! There, a "community" table is OK--but not at V&A.

You could be dining with other people..yes. The room is made for up to at least a dozen people I think..around that number anyway.

When hubby and I were there it was just the two of us.

More people would have made it even more fun.

i was calling 1407-wde-dine,and then it says to press some number if i want to make reservation in GF

We were told the same thing one year by a CM at Group Reservations - turns out she didn't know what she was talking about -- Had to make a couple phone calls myself to confirm that our group would have the table to ourselves.

Many CMs don't know Vic and Als - and assume that since the table seats 10- then others may be booked along with you (Like at Biergarten...). Of course, the policy could have changed - but I doubt it - do you know how many people book the Chef's table for Proposals and Anniversarys? ALOT - the Manager even made a big deal out of it on the recent FooDTV show on Disney Weddings (I think it was FoodTV?).

The Chef's table is an intimate enviroment - that's part of the allure - Do let us know if they've changed it!! Jill
