Hi all, did anyone ever see a bump in availability after they declared the remaining VGF2 resort studios? I would really like to add two nights to a resort studio stay we have booked in July, and have been checking for availability a few times a day, but there has never been availability for cash or points. Also, I never saw anything change availability wise after the most recent declaration of all units. Did I somehow miss an increase of booking availability for July dates or is someone able to explain why with the declaration of all room, no dates in July are available? Thanks so much!

I saw some small movement after the declaration, but not in big numbers...just had been watching September and December. So, don't know if that was just changes by people or from the rooms. The one thing is that if there were waitlists in place, those would have been filled before anything went on the website.

But, it doesn't seem like all 101 rooms would have gone that fast.

I have an ongoing waitlist for two different booking categories within the new resort studios, so I'm hoping there was a lag and maybe we'll all get lucky later this year. the fact that all of categories are booked/almost booked even in September makes me think maybe there is hope

Thanks! Since there are not any rooms available for cash either, it does make me wonder if there are going to be rooms sitting vacant the next few weeks or if they actually are all filled. Hmmmmmm

I had not seen a noticeable bump in available rooms on the RAT, but I thought perhaps it went quicker than the first round and I just missed it.

I did want to add that within 60 days, all rooms can be considered breakage but since it’s not showing cash either, it Is probably not that.

I was wondering the same thing. I check our week in November multiple times a day and never noticed the availability increase after the declaration. (I’m traveling during a busy week but I was expecting it to be like the first declaration, where all of a sudden there was full availability for all 3 RS categories for the whole week….)

I wonder if the resort is holding/planning to use some of the resort studio rooms for guests that have regular GF outer building hotel rooms booked during the construction. So now that they are working on Boca Chica, will some guests that would have been there be moved to Big Pine Key due to construction?

No, they can't do that, unless the rooms were not booked by members 60 days prior to arrival (breakage). The rooms belong to DVC. I don't think there is anything underhanded going on here. There could have been July dates booked for cash due to breakage.

I think you may be underestimating the number of non-VGF owners anxious to try the new rooms. November & December space disappeared almost immediately once booking opened to non-VGF owners. I don't doubt that there were many wait lists filled as a result of the final declaration.
