I toured it a few weeks ago and you are right it is beautiful. It looks like you had a great view, glad you enjoyed your trip.
Thank you.

I did. Hope you get to stay soon.
We just completed a a stay in a 1 bedroom, and we are already thinking of during the same again next year. It's a beautiful resort and the rooms are well appointed and designed. We love the resort as well, the monorail, the music in the lobby each evening, Gasperilla's (sp?), the pool which is nearest to the
DVC, the short boat ride back from MK and all the beautiful landscaping. Can't wait till next year!
Do you own there, Disney On The Bayou? If so, lucky you. I was/am always at at their CS, I used to go over for multiple helpings of the shrimp stir fry. I found out this trip that it's gone.
I asked the CM if the person who made that decision was fired.

Along with the person who took my beloved BW bakery fruit plate away. Or the person who thought it would be neat to sprinkle candy Mickey Mouse over a great brownie. Or the person who decided that cupcakes could no longer be anywhere near plain and had to contain about a hundred ingredients. Okay, I'll stop.
oooooooh, so pretty

i think we're going to try it next spring (love the GF, and all the VGF pix look incredible!)
so, how was the transportation? what about the storage (dressers, etc) in room? any noise from the poly construction?
hope you had a
fantastic time!!
and very importantly:
Thanks Laurie. I'm an introvert but not on my birthday. On my birthday I'm rather pompous even when it is getting up there. And I'm certainly not alone. There must have been about 8 birthdays at least at 'Ohana and I had a late reservation. So no shy end of May girls and boys.
No construction noise. But I will say for my ears, that bothered me. Please remember I live with constant construction noise with condos, streetcar bells and live practically on an urban railway line so that just might be why.
The storage issue is an issue IMO and was a definite oversight by them. I felt I kept a messier room because of it.
The transportation was fantastic, both the boat and the monorail. I heard people on the monorail complaining but really! Ridiculous to me. I also heard people complaining about not jumping right on a bus at Magical Express. Some people are impatient and regular complainers (just like me with the disappearing food items, hypocrite am I).
And now I shall complain and be impatient with transportation.

The DD bus is excruciating especially during Typhoon Lagoon season/sharing with other resorts, and with the new loops where they have to go 2 miles an hour

, I find that bus endless at any resort. BW usually the worst.
We loved the VGF so much, we bought 750 points.
The Grand is Grand!!!
Candy
Adopt. Me. Please. I beg you.
We had a two night studio stay in April, and we both were thrilled with VGF! We did buy enough points to stay in a studio for a short stay in December. I do try to get into it at 7 months when I am with DH.
That's what I want Bobbi, enough points to do a week in a studio. Good for you.

Jealous.
I was there 2 weeks ago, I made the comment that it was the first time I saw a hotel room with a tray ceiling! Beautiful!
So beautiful. Light years ahead of the other resorts. But I haven't been to VGC yet and people rave about it as well. But boy did they do a great job at the VGF.
We bought into DVC last year and actually said we didn't think we'd ever stay at VGF. Two toddlers, seemed too fancy, lots of points...
On our first DVC trip, we stayed at Kidani (did not like) and since it was raining, decided to take the boat from MK to tour the VGF.
We are booked for the first half of a split stay this summer LOL. That's how pretty the rooms are. I'm afraid we are spoiling ourselves staying first half but that's what was available.
Every view except 2 rooms have looked fab!
I was the same. Didn't think I would care to nab a reservation. Wondered about being surrounded by the upper class.

But didn't care and loved it.
Enjoy your stay, guppy.
