I was planning to buy VDH but I got to stay at VGC for 1 night this past January and 2 nights this past June on non-VGC points and my family fell in love with the decor and location.
Did some calculations and decided to take the plunge and I’m now in closing on a loaded 100 pt VGC resale contract at $265 pp. If I rent out 25-50 points per year I will cover most of my annual maintenance and that will put my own stays at around $200-300 per night. That is a steal compared to VGC cash rates (which I would never actually pay).
Depending on the VDH price, points chart, and incentives, I’ll consider buying some direct points there when they go on pre-sale.
