Hi all, I was wondering which weeks in June are better then others for VGC. We are planning our DLR trip in June and are very flexible when it comes to which weeks to go. We originally were going to stay in a 1-bedroom at VGC but decided to do a Studio because we want to save points, plus we want to go a few days longer. I have looked at availability through this week, but there is only availability for most days of the week and others are full. I am just curious to those who are owners of VGC or who are very familiar with this resort, know which weeks would be better. I could wait list the days that are booked up but we have never done that before, therefore I am clueless to that subject. Thank you to anyone who can help.

The earlier the better. Many area schools are still in session until the latter part of June.

There are only 23 studios at VGC with hundreds-of-thousands of DVC members eligible to book at 7 months. Whatever isn't grabbed by owners at 11-8 months will always go quickly at 7 mos.

I would also recommend investigating the weather to make sure you are comfortable with conditions during the dates you are targeting. If you're not familiar with SoCal or Anaheim weather, it can be a bit surprising.

We've visited numerous times in early June. The so-called "June Gloom" often keeps things cooler than what many people typically associate with summer California weather. Weather systems coming in off the Pacific mean most days begin with very overcast skies and cool, breezy conditions. Then as soon as the sun goes down you'll need long pants and warmer tops / jackets to combat the cold.

Generally speaking, expect temps to peak in the lower 70s (at best) during the day and it will get down into the 50s and 60s at night. We've had weeklong trips to the Anaheim area in mid-June when there were only 2 or 3 days when it really got warm enough to swim.

Thank you for your reply. We are first timers to the West coast and I had read that it will be much cooler than if we were to be in Orlando (in June). When does the weather start to get warmer? Like I said before, we are very flexible with our dates, however we would like to go at a time where it won't be too crowded....I know summer is a crowded time of year to go, and we don't mind some crowds, we just don't want to be in parks where the crowd levels will be at 9s or 10s everyday.

It starts getting warmer when the crowds get bigger. ;)

Bear in mind that Disneyland is in the middle of the city. You can see Tower of Terror while pumping gas in your car. People in Southern California spend their evenings, weekends and summer days at DL in the same way that people in other cities hang out at the mall. You're not going to find crowds in the 4s and 5s during the summer. But even when crowds pick up, sensible touring and liberal use of Fastpass yields good results.

Fortunately the cheapest Annual Passes they sell to Cal residents are blacked-out during much of the summer. That does help control crowds a bit. You can find a blackout calendar on the Disneyland ticketing website.

If you place greater importance on low crowds, try for the 1st or 2nd week of June. If you place greater importance on warm weather, 3rd or 4th week of June would be better. No guarantees, though. It can always be unseasonably warm one week and unseasonably cool the next.

Anaheim area weather is nothing like Orlando. Our last stay was in August and we were still wearing long pants and warmer shirts in the evenings. But the closer you get to the middle of summer, the warmer it will tend to get during the day. It is a very temperate climate.

You can search for details on weather websites. Just make sure you look specifically at Anaheim. Weather can vary dramatically between cities which are seemingly very close together. Distance from the coast and land elevation causes great variation in temps.

Thank you so much for all of your input, you really are helping me out. Right now I am just hoping to get availability for VGC for whenever in June (we would love to do 8 nights), and then we will deal with the weather situation. If it is cooler while we are there then so be it, if it's warmer, where the kids will be able to swim, then that will be a bonus :goodvibes.

Weather in Southern California can vary. I had a trip in late April where it was 100 on my arrival day, then 72 later in the week. I also had a late September trip with temps close to 100. My recent late September trip was 85-90. I had an August trip with temps in the 80's.

The third week also has studio days that aren't available. If you truly are flexible with dates, I'd book ASAP for one week and then add the extra day later. The fourth week might stay open and available but it could be risky to wait. VGC books really quickly and what's available right now could be gone tomorrow, or even later today.

Thank you so much for your information and for checking the different weeks for me - I kind of thought that was going to happen. That is why I woke up very early this morning so I can get onto the online booking by 8am their time (7am our time). I was able to secure 7 nights for a Studio at VGC. Our dates are 6/6-6/13....I will be calling MS tomorrow bright and early to add on one more night. Thank you to everyone who responded and, also thank you for the information about the weather that time of year. You guys are the best :goodvibes.

Congratulations! YW. So glad I could help. I know you'll have fun no matter what the weather. And VGC is so close that you'll be able to pop back to your room thru the day to add or remove clothing. Enjoy!!

And I see June 6 now has no availability. Studios are the hardest to get so glad you grabbed it.

I feel so much better that I got up early (kids were off today due to Election Day). I am crossing my fingers that there will be availability for our add on day, if not DH and I had already made a plan B and will probably just book a night at either GCH or at DLH :goodvibes.

We went that week in June this summer and the weather was perfect. We are used to Houston weather so it was a little cool for us to swim, but so much more pleasant than WDW in June.
