We have to take our cat to the vets tonight - he came in yesterday limping very badly. He can't seem to put any weight on one of his back legs. He also lost his collar.

No sign of any other injuries and he's eating OK so hoping it's not too serious.

Hope everything is ok. He's probably been in a bit of a battle. It's common to get bitten around the tendon on the back leg.

hope you cat is not too seriously injured tim :) what vets do you use ??

big hugs for your puss, I hope he's ok, if he's eating it probably means hes just had a bit of a scrap so fingers crossed

Spot on!

He has two puncture wounds, one on the top of his leg and one underneath.
The wounds were just starting to become infected.

He's had two jabs - an anti-inflamatory and some antibiotics.

So we are now £39 lighter! But at least Smokie Joe is OK :)

Hugs to Smokie Joe. I'll bet he's getting lots of TLC in the Armstrong household tonight. :grouphug:

Glad to know he's ok. One night Tinkerbell had been in for a few hours. Acting totally normal so we didn't think twice. Scott was stroking her and she rolled over on her back, revealing a three inch long gaping wound down the inside of her leg!! Needless to say she was down the vets within 30 minutes so it didn't have any more chance to become infected but I still can't get over how she didn't react to it, it was the full length of her leg!

Glad he is OK. My cat Cheeky was always being bitten when we moved into our house. After the 5th visit to the vets for the same thing we knew what to do and just asked for a prescription (we were too ashamed to take him back!!). Our cat weights 17lb and kept getting bitten by the wild rabbits on the field at the side of our house. We watched it happen one day, he just layed there as they were chomping on his leg! Our other cat had to go running over to chase the bunnies away and save him!!!!
