How are the crowds (and weather) during the week of Veterans Day?
A family situation may cause me to change my early-Oct plans to the week of 11/10.

Thanks!

I was there last year from November 10-15. The holiday was on Monday (I believe it's on Tuesday this year--so that may change things a bit)...but I think the crowds were very manageable for the weekend and then they thinned out starting on Tuesday. We left on that following Friday. The weather was good. High 70's in the beginning of the week, a bit cooler at night (bring a sweatshirt!!! or two). We had rain on only 1 evening (but it poured!!!!). I would not hesitate to go at this time again. Hope this helps....:D

We were there Nov. 8-15 in 2001. Crowds were light (9/11?) with the exception of Saturday night at MK. It was the only park, other than Epcot, that was open and the only time they were showing the Electric parade. It was mobbed!

We were there last year as found it more crowded that we really cared for, but we usually try to go during slow times. That being said, if you're going at this time I think it's likely to be busier 11/6-11/11 and then drop off drastically after that. 11/12-11/22 I would think would be wide open with light crowds.

In the past couple of years that was the "Soap Star" weekend at MGM.

We'll be there from Sunday the 8th through Sunday the 16th. I have a feeling crowds will be pretty heavy. It is Super Soap Weekend, Festival of the Masters, as well as the last week of the Food & Wine Festival. I think that people must be extending their weekend through Tuesday due to the holidays.

I called to convert my reservations to AP rates at 7 am on Thursday, and no AP rates were being offered at the deluxes on the 9th or 10th. I was able to get the AP rates for the 11th to the 16th, but many of the resorts were already sold out at rack rates! The CR must be having a convention that week, as there is NOTHING available! We will be at AKL till Wednesday, then moving over to the Poly. Gotta do the Sunrise Safari!!

CRCrazy, we are there at exactly the same time! I know the first week of Nov. is Jersey week, all the public schools in the state are closed for 2 days, Thursday and Friday, for a teacher's convention, so I figure with that and the holiday being on Tuesday the crowds will be heavier than usual- take your kids out of school on Wed and Mon and still get a 7 day vacation out of it!
Combine that with SuperSoap weekend and F&W... good thing I am planning a nice relaxing tip instead of trying to get everything done! I agree that the crowds will probably drop off dramatically after 11/11. It's still got to be better than summer anyway.

Thanks for all the great feedback!

My family situation wasn't dire enough to warrrant the $400 it would have cost me to change my plane tickets, not to mention the hassle around changing the hotel (DVC and Bradenton Beach). So... I'm sticking with my Oct plans.
