This is on my to-do list for next time!
I hear they tend to be early (9:30-12?)
Does anyone know if they are ever scheduled for Sundays?

Is there a way to get the schedule ahead of time or do we just have to ask a castmember on the day of if anything is scheduled?

The only day they usually don't do anything is Wednesdays.

No way to know what may be happening until day of.:)

I saw one a couple of trips ago, but it took so long I didn't stick around for the actual surgery. I saw a lot of prep, but it was getting on lunch time and I was hungry. It was a beautiful vulture with a foot issue. They did a ton of ct scans on her in the further back room, then brought her right up to the glass where they would do the surgery. It was very interesting.

In September, we watched the veterinarians treat an injured turtle that had been hit by a car on Disney Property.

A couple of weeks later, Doc McStuffins and Rafiki were able to watch a lioness receive her annual checkup.

We too watched them work on an animal that had been hit by a car, which is why you can't get a list of procedures in advance, they can't really plan for emergencies. They do what's needed and when there isn't an emergency that needs to be done, they'll do a check up or teeth cleaning type thing.

We saw them remove a tumor/cyst from a flamingo. We had been told by a CM who heard us talking about DD wanting to be a vet(on parking lot tram at HS!) to go in the morning as you mentioned to possibly see any procedures.

We've watched them do procedures on various birds. You just never know till you get there in terms of what is on the schedule for that particular day.

Rather than travel all the way out to Rafiki's planet watch when you arrive at the park, you can ask a cast member to radio out there (via walkie-talkie) and check the schedule for you. This worked like a charm for me on my last trip.

They might have a last minute change (as others have said, emergencies can come up ), but they're very willing to help you if you ask.

And as others have said, they usually don't schedule procedures on Wednesdays.

I saw them cleaning up wounds on a meercat that was in a fight with another one. It was pretty interesting. Didn’t get good photos because the glass had too many reflections

We watched a monkey get a colonoscopy one time. Another time they were putting a scope down a bird.
