I've been spending all my time downstairs in my scrapbook/craft room working on my painting projects so I haven't been watching the news the past few days.. Came up awhile ago, turned on the tv (could hear the wind howling like crazy outside - along with some very large gusts) and they were talking about how frigid cold it is - and how it's going to be even worse tomorrow.. (Well below zero wind chill factors..)

Also heard that we are on the "western fringe" of a major storm off the coast of New England and aside from the off and on snow we had today, we could get anywhere from 3" to 8" of snow by tomorrow afternoon/evening.. Huh?? Guess that's what happens when you're not paying attention - LOL..

My family is still gone away and with the wind howling like it is, I'm walking around with a flashlight in my pocket in case the power goes out..

What's happening in your neck of the woods? And if you're closer to the coast, what are they telling you to expect for tomorrow?

Same as you pretty much. Southwestern CT cold and windy with snow expected.

No snow here in the mid-Atlantic, but we are supposed to have a low of 13 tonight - it NEVER gets that cold in Piedmont NC!!!!! We are bundled....

Jersey Shore 2 miles in from coast, its 19 out now, windy but not drastic, they are saying high of 30 tomorrow 10% chance of snow, right now ocean temp is keeping coastline a little warmer than the inland.

Suffolk cty, Long Island, Ny - We had about 4 inches of snow, its was slushy rainy stuff sometimes. I went out with dh during the day and it was bad, now its all frozen over, the main streets are good but our development and side roads are just sheets of ice. Boy I guess they cant afford any sand etc with my tax dollars. I think its gonna be a long, cold winter, tomm. its suppose to be very cold. Stay warm C.Ann!

 My poor dog, she LOVES to go outside when it snows. She was all gung-ho about going outside when we finally struggled home today, and she bolted out... then right back in again! It's snowing sideways here; the plow came for the driveway about 3 hours ago and it looks like it never came. The wind is whipping the snow so hard that it stings, and I'm kinda surprised I still have power...

Ugh!

North east Jersey. 19 degrees and still some pretty strong wind gusts. Warmer than Toronto where I used to live and where my most of my family is so I guess I'll take it.

Here in Toronto, it's 22 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than where I used to live in MN. :rotfl: But, that means it's only 9 degrees F. Still coooold.

No stats to report, but we just got home, and it was COLD out there. Really bitter, wicked cold. :cold:

Here in Western Maine: Snow, wind, snow, cold, snow, and more wind. Our garage door is fully blocked by a giant snowdrift, according to DH!

Staten Island reporting in.....freezing cold and strong winds. Don't know the temp but it must be in the teens, some snow flurries expected.
Glad I didn't have to go out tonight. Brrrrrrrrrr

They just showed the weather on our news. I can't believe how insanely cold it is over such a large part of the country.

We have a high of 33 predicted for Friday, and this is south Louisiana!

20* and extremely windy making it feel like 3* in So Md. :cold:! Supposed to be very cold all week, so I can only imagine the electric bill . Will soon climb into our new satin sheets and snuggly fuzzy blankies we got for C'mas :goodvibes. Oil lamps are ready and flash light on bed stand if needed. Everyone bundle up and pls. stay safe!

Currently, here in lovely upstate New York it feels like -4*F (blech) with winds between 20 and 40 MPH. (double blech)

More of the same awful stuff tomorrow....i'm totally jealous of all you that don't have to leave the house....

Disneyworld 45 degrees--burr its cold. They warned people on the news not to keep animals outside. I guess its better than snowy NY!
