I recall reading posts on the boards about how long it had taken some people to receive a return of their deposit when they have canceled or changed reservations. Just wanted to add my own recent experience as an additional data point on this subject:
Back in June, I made reservations for a Feb 2005 trip, with several days at AKL and several days at BC. Due to a variety of circumstances, we have been forced to cancel this trip (which makes me very sad, but that is a different issue).
I called WDTC on 11/17 to cancel the reservations. The guy on the phone said it would take 7 - 10 business days for the cancellation to be processed and that, due to billing cycles, I might not see the return of my deposit show up in my credit card statement for 2 to 3 bills.
Lo and behold, I went online today (11/22) to check my credit card balance and the return of the deposit is there already. It was submitted on 11/18 and processed on 11/21.
I am very pleased by how quickly this occurred. FWIW, I made the reservation using my Disney credit card.
