My son is 13 and is a very picky eater. His father and sister are too but not as bad as him. Away from home he pretty much sticks to chicken nuggets and tenders or cheese pizza. How accomodating are Disney restaurants? I know they usually are but many of the places I would like to try don't have anything he will eat anywhere on the menu. For example, Coral Reef, Whispering Canyon, The Wave, etc. I would love to eat at some of these in Oct. but are not sure of how to handle him. We did a Disney Cruise two years ago and I was so pleased at how the crew went above and beyond to accomodate. Vacation is not the time to be in a "battle of wills" with this child. He has gone without at times but I hate for that to happen on vacation. Any thoughts?

All the resturants have a kid's menu with nuggets, pizza, ect. I'm sure they will let him order off that menu. especially if it's that or nothing.
I have a 13yr old son also...not a picky eater....going on the free dining plan in two weeks...i'm assuming there may be a time he would perfer a kid's menu item instead of something off the adult menu....since we're on the dining plan I'm sure they would be more than happy to sub a kid's menu item over an adult dinner.

Most of the restaurants will let you get an "adult" sized portion from the kids menu with no problems. The only place that we had a problem with was the SciFi, and I think it was only because of the crabby attitude of the waitress.

my brother (50s) is also very picky... at Coral Reef he was able to get a kids' pizza as an appy, a plain steak and french fries as his meal... at other restaurants he was able to get double kids' meals as his meal... BUT! when my dd (12 at the time) tried the same thing (double kids' meal) she was only permitted one kids' meal... so good luck!

Most places should accomodate you. I hope this doesnt sound bad but If there is nothing on the menu he likes he could always eat at a quick service place afterwards? Maybe he could even order something before hand at a quick service place to take into the restaurant. Not sure how it would work but it is an idea :) Good Luck!!
