Hi Everyone !

I usually go to WDW every early December for the wonderful Christmas decorations, and the low crowds. This morning I was thinking of the "what ifs..."

What if I could really save my money and go twice per year ! That's such a wonderful thought.

I am 50 years old, NO children, my DH stays home, so I travel solo. I can choose my time for vacation for work, so that is no problem. If I wanted to go, in addition to my week in early December, what would be the next LOWEST crowds for a 5 night vacation ?

OK.....maybe I'm just dreaming here......but maybe it is possible.

Since you go in December how about your second trip of the year to be in May. Your spring break people have been and gone and your summer vacation people haven't arrived as yet. The weather hasn't gotten so stinking hot yet, but you can still make use of the pool. I finally talked my whole family into going together and I gave them the choice of September or May. They chose May, but it won't be until next May. That's OK though, Just so there is at least another trip in the planning stage.

Hi Claudia

I'm trying the second week in May this year. Tried early June but too hot & humid!!! Also want to experience the Flower & Garden fest!!

Good luck with your decision!! :teeth:

I would have to agree the week after labor day. We arrived the day after labor day last year and for several day we were the only ones on the bus most of the time.

Hi, Claudia!
You might like to know that if you want to rent DVC points, September is another very low points month-a reason to consider going then. But from what I've heard (never been in September), it's still HOT! Early May's weather is a little better, but DVC "costs" (points) are more, as well as it being a more expensive "season" for regular hotels. This coming year, I'm going the first week in January-not as much fun as December, but work and family schedule dictate it, and crowds are very low. But I'm sure it would be much too soon for you to go again. Then it would be such a L-o-n-g wait til your next vacation. For balancing timing, May's good for a second trip-that's what I do-go twice a year-May/June and December/January. I think twice a year is great, and it's actually good if the weather's very different on your 2 trips. I find that there are certain things I do only on certain trips. Only swim in May, only poke around AK in December.

You already go during one of the lowest attendance times! :)

Next lowest is September. From the week after Labor Day until the beginning of October. That's also value season, so you save on hotel costs as well.

Next lowest is January, but that's probably too soon after you've been. :)

You might also enjoy the Food & Wine Festival in October.

We went to WDW the week after Labor Day 2001 and although we had an incredible time the heat was horrible!!!!! It was at least 90 degrees each day and humid as ever! We spent nearly as much on bottled water as we did on food. The crowds were wonderful though, so if you enjoy the heat...well...I'll let you decide.

Whatever you decide...have a magical time!
