I am in Florida visiting family and some suggested we go to universal studios tomorrow, Saturday. I checked the crowd calendar and it's ranked an 8 but are we nuts for even considering such a last minute trip? I usually plan for a couple months at least. To make it even more complicated I would have to leave by 5pm. If we do go do you have any recommendations for making the most of our day? We are going mostly to see Diagon Alley.

Thank you in advance!

Agreed with pp, pull into the parking lot line at least 30 minutes, but really 45 minutes before the park opens. I have waited up to 15 minutes just to park, then it does take about 10 minutes to get from the parking garage to US entrance. Then if you have to buy tickets (TIP buy ticket online and pick up at park at Kiosk) saves time and money. Diagon Ally is amazing and worth the price of admission (but I love Harry Potter so I am biased). The Gringotts ride, go to it first and go through the standby line. The single rider line for that attraction cuts out half of the really cool parts of the line including the preshow with Bill Weasley. But the rest of the rides the single rider line can be golden if you don't buy the Express Pass.

If price is not an issue then buy the Express Pass, at US you can use it at most of the attractions. That way you really can get the most rides in for your day.

We will be there also.

But like others said get there early and hit the headliners that you want to do.
