Very Impressed with VWL during the Holidays

We just returned last night from our holiday trip to VWL. We arrived at MCO about 9:45 a.m. on 12/26. We used Magical Express, which was great. After a very short wait for the ME bus, and stops at the Poly and GF, we arrived at the WL about 10:50 a.m. Our plan was to store our carry-ons with bell services, go to a park and get our room assignment later in the day. There was quite a long line to check in, but the front desk was fully staffed and we only waited a few minutes. We were astonished when the CM at the front desk told us our room was ready! So by 11:05 a.m. we were in our room!

I did not make any room requests (other than non-smoking) for this trip. We loved our room - a 1-bedroom on the third floor with a lovely view of the quiet pool and partial view of Bay Lake. The room was immaculate and everything was in working order.

We had seen pictures of the WL during the holidays, but pictures do not do it justice. The lobby, which is always beautiful, looks spectacular decorated for Christmas. The villas lobby also has a beautiful tree.

We had a great time, just wanted to share!

It sounds just lovely, and in your room by 11:05 in the morning!!! Sounds like the pixie dust was with you for this trip!

How were the crowds at the resort and the parks?

Sounds like you had a wonderful DCV stay! Fifteen minutes in line during the holidays at that time of the morning does not sound bad. How nice that your room was ready when you checked in.

We check in Friday, I can't wait and your post just made me even more excited, maybe a light or two will still be up??

The crowds were immense, but we made sure to get up really early and hit the parks first thing. We were amazed at how much we were able to do by making judicious use of Fastpass. We were able to ride the headliners at all 4 parks.

The hotel was very busy, but we never had to really wait for anything. The staff was wonderful and there were certainly enough of them on duty to handle the number of people.
