I am in serious turmoil and anxiety. My family and I are booked for a Disney cruise Jan 6-10/2013 and have rooms booked at a AoA for Jan 10-15/2013. This is where my problem comes in... that darn marathon starts on the 10th so there go my hopes of getting free dining unless.....does anyone know if I could book my room from Jan 9-15 but only check-in on the 10th? It would mean paying for an extra night but it is worth for my family!! Of course this is all planning with no actual facts to base this on but I want to be prepared for any unforseen offers. Would they let me book that first night and not tell them that I would only really show up on the 10th? Thanks!!

As mentioned, the answer is no. You MUST check in on the date you reserve. If you don't, your entire reservation will be canceled and you will pay the applicable fees.

If you don't tell them, it's very possible they'll cancel your reservation because you were a no show.

Or, you'll show up on Jan 10 and if the FD offer is no longer in effect, you'll be allowed to check in, but without FD.

You have to physically check in at the resort during the time the FD offer is in effect.
