Very disappointed in

Me too!!!

I had a hard to understanding the actors. The accents were a little heavy for me. And, not sure what the overall purpose was. Seems like Luca is leaving.

Seemed like an agenda - to try and raise awareness about the strife in africa - politics?

I enjoyed the episode. I thought it was gritty, emotional, and gripping.
We saw a whole new side to Carter and Luka

I enjoyed the show tonight as well. Thought it was a little more meatier (in an emotional sense) than usual. Which I liked.
I would say they are building up to Carter leaving. I thought I had read somewhere he is leaving the show. I bet when Lucas comes back Carter leaves to go help the African Hosp.

"Carter" is there for another year, at least, from what I read.

Maybe he will start 'funding' the Drs tho, with the Carter Foundation. He's got a ton 'o cash now!

I was a little disappointed to see him go back to Abby, after the way he left, I thought they might be done with that story.

I was also disappointed that the entire episode was just Carter & Luka. That 'SAW' scene made me ill!!

I enjoyed the episode a great deal. I liked the side of Luca it showed and I found the violin music during the saw part very powerful.

WHOA! THAT WAS A VERY GRAPHIC ER EPISODE..

I like ER, no.. I LOVE ER.. but tonight was a very strong episode.. was there any notice to viewers that this would be extremely graphic tonight? just wondering..

I cried thru most of the show.. but when they shot the man in the head... I lost it.. Political viewpoints were very forward in this episode. I enjoyed listening to Luka's emotions about war.

The surgical scenes were good, very good.
As for NEXT Fall~~~~~
I am not sure where the writers are going with Luka..

Carter and Abby.. I am not sure that they are good for one another. Would like to see them with different partner's and maybe even HAPPY
Anxious to see Romano's return in the fall
and What about Carrie??
Also glad that Mikai Pfeiffer will be returning to the ER
and the other medical student too!
I sincerely hope that the writers give Sherry Springfield, Susan, a huge strong storyline.. I liked her this year with her comic relief but I want to see her on screen much more..

and in all honesty... I miss Anthony Edwards!!

jmho

I loved it!

IT was definetely different, and showed the aspect of the world not many people see.

I bet the Carter foundation will "fund" that hospital in the Congo. I said that last night to DH.

I cried when the woman with Aids died near her husband. Unforunately it happens a lot in those types of clinics/hospitals. People do die waiting for the doctor quite a bit.

I thought the accents were fine. The one with heavy braids (liked her!) had an Indonesian/ Indian accent.

And I loved the point that Luka really told Carter what it was like not being an American... good point and truly drove it home.

I really liked the episode, but it should not have been the season finale. IMHO, the season finale should have included the entire cast, not just Carter and Luka.

I fell asleep before the first half was over, so got up, turned the TV off and went up to bed. I guess I didn't like the episode well enough to stay awake.

I must say that I did enjoy the episode.

I thought it was a great episode but agree with jwsqrdplus2 that the season finale should have included the other cast members.

probably one of my favorite episodes now

I loved the africa theme, really shows how good we have it over here, and the strifes they are going through in a war torn nation over politics

it was a very powerful episode. it should not have been the season finale, but nevertheless I found it very compelling.

did anyone notice the subtitle issue? the whole time Carter's in the clinic, we see subtitles whnever French was spoken. but when the soldiers came and had their guns pointed at Luka and Carter, no subtitles. for me, since I don't speak French, it made the scene scarier. I do wish I knew what that soldier said to Carter, though.

it does leave Luka's staatus up in the air, though, doesn't it?

I just read in yesterday's paper that Noah Wylie is in the process of signing for the 11th season.

According to the article, he won't be in 3 to 5 episodes. He wants some "off time" to spend with his family.

Also noted was his real life involvement with "Doctors of the World" who provide the type of care depicted in last night's episode.

The Congo episodes are being taped in Hawaii. The shooting took 3 weeks. There are two more episodes being filmed.
