I thought I had picked a great week to visit when I booked our vacation for last week. Spring breaks over and school still in session. Boy was I wrong. It was super crowded everywhere- to the point I cannot even IMAGINE how summer months are. It was VERY hot most of the week too. And there were loads of 2007 senior trips as well as choir groups for some reason. Would 2 weeks after Thanksgiving and before Christmas be a better choice? Are the temps nice then for light comfy clothing? I want to start planning something in my head for another visit - this time with just the 3 of us and a shorter trip- but I want to make it worthwhile this time. We were in MK three different times and still didnt get to do everything. When most of ones day is spent in 50+ minute lines that happens. I also will never book middle of the day character meals..they will be breakfast or late supper as the last thing we do. It was too much planning around 1:00, 2:35, 5:10 and 6pm reservations. I guess we all have to learn to like breakfast LOL. Or trade all my table meals for quick service seeing they are tons of food anyhow!! :) Anyhow, just wondering what everything thinks for good travel times and best rates. Thanks!!

We prefer to go the second week of December. We have had good luck with low crowds and such. The only day we had big crowds was on our first trip. The last day there was the 18th and it was shoulder to shoulder. Good Luck!
It is also decorated very nice.

I understand crowds are low after Labor Day. It's hot though. :goodvibes

Look at disney's season calendar as they have times of the year broken down into seasons: value, peak, etc. The value season will be the least crowded. There are lot of different "best" times of the year. Everyone has specific reasons. For example, I like the week after Thanksgiving as it's not as crowded, value season rates, christimas decor is up. However, it's not as warm as I like it! So my other favorite time of the year is May. A little more crowded but alot warmer weather! I like it hot! This is when we enjoy the water parks. Also, Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival is going on at this time. Do some searches here on this topic and you'll find alot of great opinions!

We've gone the week immediately after Thanksgiving and I think it was a great choice. Crowds were very low; we walked on most rides, and the temps were comfortable enough to wear jeans and a long-sleeve tee. Plus, everything is decorated for Christmas. It's also value season, so resorts are at their lowest rates---that's always a good thing!

Out of the different times of the years that we've been, I would have to say that Nov/Dec is my favorite.

If you get to the parks early, you should be able to do a lot before the crowds get there around 10:00.

Disney is having an excellent year so unfortunately I think every one has been seeing higher than normal attendance levels. Maybe the secrets out. LOL. We went the 3rd week in March and it was definitely more folks, not packed like the summer but very busy. We are going again in November for Jersey week. Normally we go the last week in August, which crowd wise use to be fabulous. 20 min wait on top attractions MAX, but now they have free dining which definitely brings them in.

We like to go the week of Veteran's Day in November...right before Thanksgiving. The weekends and Monday are relatively busy, but the crowds are very light the rest of the week...and the weather is awesome! Plus, you get the pleasure of waking up one morning and finding that your resort was transformed overnight into a Christmas holiday wonderland!
