Vero with a 1.5 year old and a 6 month old?

Looking for some alternatives to the World for a vacation next summer. I think we could do Vero for much cheaper and since we've never been there it might be fun.

Would a studio work ok for two adults and two kiddos that young? I think the baby would be in a pack n play (or whatever they give you) and the 1.5 year old could sleep in our bed. Is that doable?

Also, how long would you recommend staying with two kiddos that young? We were thinking somewhere between 2-5 nights. Is there anything that they could do down there?

Also, where is the nearest airport and what's the drive to Vero? TIA!

We visited Vero Beach in May this year with our 4 year old and 1 year old. I thought it would be quaint in a studio...not so. The kids need dark to sleep, so we all went to sleep at 7:30...by the end of day three I was so overwhelmed just being in that one room. I would never recommend a studio unless it is just a couple.
Aside from that, A great family resort. My daughter loved it. Lots of activities for her. The babe was happy to eat shells on the beach... I think I will enjoy it there more once my son is a bit older and we can all just hang out together at the beach. My husband loved it too, once he relaxed. My sister inlaw lives in Sebastian so we got to visit a bit, that was nice. Enjoy!

Oh Oh, we are plannning a trip with DD, by then 2.5 and a 3 month old. She sleeps anywhere...I hope new baby is good as well.

With kids that young, I would be more apt to get a 1BR just to have access to that kitchen...

If you only go for 3 days or so that wouldn't be as bad...

There are a few things for tots to do in Community Hall... I believe they have a "Tot" Treasure hunt where one of the CM's buries "coins" in the sand by the playscape and the kids have to dig them up... They also do "bubbles on the boardwalk" where the kids get to blow bubbles with other kids for about 30 mins or so...

Your kids might be a little young, but you could also try the character b'fast at Shutter's...

There's always splashing in the pool... If one of the kids takes a nap, you may be able to get a poolside massage...

I do think though that VB is the perfect place when they are that young.. At 1.5yo, they may recognize the characters at the parks, but they are still too young to understand what to do... (If they do understand what to do, they probabily will never remember it..)

At VB, you and your spouse will at least be able to take everything at your pace and get some much needed R&R... The kids can probabily get their regularly scheduled naps, and you are never too far from your room in the event you need to grab diapers, sun block, formula, etc...

There will be plenty of time to go to one of the onsite resorts when the kids are 3 and 2...

I think the ages are fine for Vero Beach. If you don't want to do a 1 or 2 BRM then I'd suggest staying in an Inn Room. They are a bit smaller, but it's so nice being right next to the lobby, resturants, laundry, store, and Green Cabin Room. We were there this past May with my DD who was six months. She was an early riser (6am) so each morning I'd take her down to the lobby to feed her a bottle and wouldn't have to worry about waking up my 4yr old DS. We'd hang out down stairs and I'd push her around in her stroller and get some coffee and read the paper and I never had to go outside. It worked well for us, and I don't think the studio rooms are much bigger. I'd suggest asking for a second floor room.

PS - We had been to Vero several times before and never stepped foot into the Green Cabin Bar, and I can't believe it. It's so nice to get a light dinner and sit and watch the ocean.
