Vero - taking FOREVER to close

Heard we passed ROFR on 4-30. Here we are on June 13th and it still hasn't been sent to Disney. Heard it was the town of Veros fault and they haven't sent the deed back to the title company yet. Anybody else in the same boat!

Well, I don't know about Vero, but with Hilton Head and AKV- once we closed the contract was sent to Disney to transfer...they don't wait for the actual deed. We passed ROFR on HH contract on 5/14 and closed on 6/5. I got a letter from the closing company this week that said we closed on 6/5 and it was sent to Disney for transfer on 6/6...and it said we'd get our deed in about 4-6 weeks. When we closed in March, on our AKV contract, the deed was recorded on 3/8 and we were notified by e-mail on 3/12 that we closed and then the points were loaded into our member account on 3/19 (we already had a member # and could see the points online). Got our member # letter (though we already knew our member #) in the mail on 3/25.

Has it been recorded yet, you should be able to look online to see. I know DVC wants to get a copy of the recorded deed for private sales but I was thinking they'd accept a copy of the non recorded deed from closing agents, I know they have in the past.

Our Vero closed on 5/30 and I had been watching the Indian River site to see when the deed transferred - it showed up on Sat 6/8. It just so happened that my DH name was incorrectly listed so I emailed the title co on Monday - Nancy (at title co) said she checked it the actually deed was correct. She did also say that she would advise Disney that day (Monday) that the transfer was complete. I'm really hoping that when they originally sent our closing email it said 2-3 weeks for membership number to arrive that took into consideration the deed transfer time - if so hopefully we only have a week or so to wait - if its from Monday it'll be July before we have it

http://ori.indian-river.org/ you can search to see if your deed has been recorded...do a name search. Once the deed has been recorded, the contract should go right to Disney for transfer of ownership (and that will take 7-10 days...and then another 7 days-ish to get your member # in the mail).

The town of Vero has nothing to do with it. The appropriate agency is Indian River County, FL.
