hi folks... i know this is silly but its just me... i have a 2 br vero beach reservation for august and i know not to expect any elaborate view. however, i just hate it when we end up with a balcony that forces us to embrace traffic noise, parking lots, etc. as we have had with other disney vacations (weve also had some wonderful views to be fair :) ). is there a way to avoid a parking lot view at vero and still be in a 2 br? i dont mind foilage or a quiet view or a pool view that isnt specifically ocean, i just dont want the road, cars, noise etc which i think is understandable. help?:scared: (and many thanks :) )

Hi there!

I've only been to Vero once and it was over 6yrs ago on my honeymoon:bride: :groom: and I'm really looking forward to our trip back there this June. From what I remember though, the parking was all in a garage underneith the resort so I don't think you'll end up with parking lot view;) (I could be wrong as it's been a while, but I don't remember another parking lot - I'm sure someone who's been there more recently will correct me if I'm wrong). As for views of the road, it was only A1A and didn't seem overly busy -- but that was 6yrs ago.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure it'll be nice whichever unit you get::yes::

Hi, jodyluvsdisney. Not to worry. We have had a so called parking lot view, and it was fine. We were on the first floor, and the shrubery totally obscured the lot. You may see some lot with upper floors, though. As said by Scoootch, most of the parking is under ground. Yoy will hear little traffic noise (at least in the villa we had).

Enjoy your trip!

Realistically there will be some road noise from A1A plus the noise of the property mtce. - leaf blowers, chain saws cutting back the Palm Trees etc.

So far in dedicated 2BR we have had 1411 (ground floor SW corner ground floor Building 14), 1441 (third floor - SW corner Bldg 14) and 1511 (ground floor - SW corner Building 15)

Seems like we are the designated SW corner occupiers :)

Anyways, we did not hear road noise in the unit but would hear at least some on the balconies - the foliage is dense enough that the parking lot is not the dominant feature in the view.

#1511 for what it is worth had a view of the diagonal pathway from A1A (cannot remember name but it is the ocean access for one of the developments on the other side of A1A) and was a very quiet unit with minimal road noise

Have not stayed in Buildings 11 or 12 so cannot speak for them

thanks

We had a parking lot view from our second floor room. As another poster mentioned, there were trees and such in front that obscurred it a bit. We did not notice any traffic noise. Enjoy!

Just to be honest, I would not want to go to Vero and have a parking lot view. I NEED to see the ocean when I am there-it just makes the room even more special.

This is only my opinion. We just love the ocean and don't get to see it very often. One of our favorite things to do is sit and listen to the ocean at night.

FYI, I read a while back on this board that a CM at Vero said to request a lock off 2br because that increases your chances of getting an ocean view. I don't know if this is true or not but it might be worth a try.

Interesting floridafam, not that it sets the pattern but all of our 3 2BR dedicated were on the "west" side of the resort (i.e. non-ocean view)

thanks

When we request a 2 bedroom at Vero we ask for a lock off 2 bedroom. We also have heard that the dedicated 2 bedrooms are on the opposite side of the buildings from the ocean. We had a lock off 2 bedroom on our last trip and we had a room with a view of the Inn and the Ocean and a bit of the parking lot next to the Inn.

So I would call and request a 2 bedroom lock off facing the ocean. That might help.

hi and thanks to all of you... i really appreciate you taking your time to respond. i have an update... i called member services this afternoon and questioned the chance for a lockoff and the cm just replied that i had indeed a dedicated reserved (didnt offer or look into changing it for me and i didnt push it). what she did offer to do though is list a request to be away from the roadway or parking lot side on my reservation which i said thank you to. i hope she knows what shes talking about lol. i did apologize for any inconvenience this request may be and she laughed and said.." dont worry... sometimes we have members that list a page and a half of requests on a single reservation ..this is NOTHING!" oh well. should i still think about the request to reserve a lockoff specifically? thanks, im sure any room will be ok... i just love to plan and be hopeful while understanding that not everything always works out as planned. thanks again.

I have had a lock off twice. Each time the room was on the side of the building. You could see the ocean a littlebut you would need to stand up to see it though as the balcony because the railing was like a solid wall.

We had a lockoff 2 BR on the Ocean side of the horseshoe in 1998. My guess is that unit type won't affect the view other than a 3 BR or the Inn rooms. Maybe someone else, Doc possibly, knows for sure.
