What are some of your favorite things to do at Vero after the sun goes down???? We will be traveling with both adults and little kids. Is there beach access after sunset? What else is there around the resort to do. Thanks!

There certainly is beach access. Vero is kind of low key after dark. I think I remember an organized camp fire for kids.
They kind of advocate "lights out" after dark because of the turtles that nest there in season.
We usually just relax in our room, play games, etc after dark. Usually tired from beach related activities.

Vero rolls up the carpet and turns the lights out by 9:00. We did not find a whole lot to do in the area other than eat some dinner. That's why we felt like 3 nights was enough there….

We borrow a couple games from Flo's, a couple DVD from the store, and that's our night.

Ha, that is so funny. We always say just the opposite after our wonderful, relaxing stays at Vero. "Geez, I wish we had stayed there longer..."

We stayed a few years ago with three teens. We felt like a few nights were enough also because of how quiet it was in the evening. There really isn't much going on at the resort or in Vero either. We went to town for dinner and found all of the shops were closed pretty early. We had a nice dinner but that was it. I'm not sure about other surrounding towns, but I was a bit disappointed that Disney didn't offer more for in the evening.

3 nights were enough for us too but, then again, we were there on Thanksgiving and it was pretty cold- plus we normally stay in 1 bedrooms and we stayed in a studio- it felt so cramped. If it was warmer we would have went for nightly swims.

I thought the beach was closed at night but I could be wrong. There wasn't much going on. The first night there was a bonfire with smores but it was VERY loud and it scared my young kids. It may have been loud b/c it was Thanksgiving eve as the other Disney Resorts have the same thing and they are pretty quiet. There was also older game systems off to the side of the lobby that kids were playing and iPads attached to a pillar. You can rent board games and movies. All in all pretty tame.

The beach is always there and no it is not closed. The Bar/Lounge stays open to midnight and has a big deck overlooking the beach. They do have movies to check out and games, and Indian River about 15 mins north has a big movie theater, and other things, Vero to the south has restaurants and bars etc. The resort itself is pretty quiet other than the lounge.

We agree. We were bored and no one wants to go back. I guess we are no longer beach people. The pool closed around 6:00pm during our visit there. My family rented movies.

While technically correct, during sea turtle nesting season beach access using the gates near the green cabin may be blocked to discourage guests from going down to the beach and possibly disturbing a nesting female. There are other beach access locations but this is the most commonly used and easiest to access so it could give the impression that the beach is "closed".
