Vero Beach Trip Report – Turtle Walk too!

 We were there June 18 through June 23. During this time, if you're an early- riser you can go down to the beach and watch the Disney naturalists uncover and mark the nests. The turtle troup sounds like a great idea for your nephew, I'm sure he'd love it and learn a lot too! :wizard:

Our first family Disney vacation was AKL and it still holds a special place in my heart. Besides DD8 the rest of us aren't exactly animal-aware but because she loves it so much, we've done some things we probably wouldn't have chosen otherwise. Like the AKL, swimming with Dolphins on the Disney Cruise and the turtle walk at VB, but these experiences have by far made our vacations more unique and magical. :cloud9:

I just wanted to share, that we just got home and we too saw a mother turtle nest on our last night. It was the last night of the season for turtle walks and after the previous two nights of no sightings, we saw a 400 pound turtle do her thing. It really was amazing! I am glad your kids got to do and I agree it is an awesome vacation! :cool1:

So glad you got to experience the special magic of VB. The turtle walk has got to be one of the most amazing experiences..what those mama turtles go through ;) The experience is just awesome.

As much as we love WDW and had spent a small fortune going there several times a year, it was a trip to VB in 1998 that convinced us that DVC was right for us. It's one of those well-kept secrets--until you actually get there and want to tell everybody how great it is!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip...makes me want to call MS on Monday so we can go back
