Vero Beach to Port Canaveral?

I'm embarrassed to say that I have NO CLUE where Vero Beach is located.

We're thinking of staying at DVC's Vero resort before going on a Disney cruise, and would like to know how far of a drive it would be.

Have any of you done this?

I am guessing it would probably be around 45 minutes to an hour. It is basically a straight drive south, and then a short drive east to get onto A1A.

We'll be staying at Vero after our cruise, so I can let you know how it turned out.
Have you tried using Expedia maps, they give pretty good driving directions.

Well, I knew it was south of the Cape on the Eastern side of Florida but I had to look it up on the map. It appears to be a little south of Melbourne. You might try this map from yahoo (http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=Vero+Beach,+FL). Hope this helps.

We did it before our cruise last December. The resort is beautiful and really got us in the mood for the cruise. It was a nice easy drive to the port in the morning. I think no more than 45 minutes or so.

Just a note.... The resort is north of Vero Beach, closer to Sabastian, and next to Wabasso Beach or Orchid. It's right at the end of the bridge on route 510.

Well, from my experience, Disney's Vero Beach Resort (located in Wabasso Beach, FL) to Cape Canaveral Space Center is over an hour. That was driving at 75 on the interstate. I am not sure about the distance to Port Canaveral, but the space center was a good poke. It is probably closer from Orlando.

Still, VB is a lovely way to start or finish a vacation, so I would imagine it would be a great spot to go before or after a cruise.
