Vero Beach Pelican Island on Sunday Morning today

Anyone else notice the nature shot at the end of "Sunday Morning" this morning? It was of Pelican Island at Vero Beach. We love to rent bikes and head up to Pelican Island for a look from the nature observatory. We were there last November and a lovely lady who was a volunteer at the nature center gave us a tour and history of the area.
This is an easy bike ride from the resort and we highly recommend it!

We are checking into a beach cottage on Sunday and am really looking forward to doing some biking. Can you ride to Sebastien Inlet State Park as well, or is it to far. There are 8 of us with 4 teenagers, I think that would keep them busy. TIA

Didn't see the show, but we do see Pelican Island each visit. Also, always visit the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge

Yes. In fact it would be the same route you would take to Pelican Island. They call it the Jungle trail. Not really a jungle trail. Though some parts do run on gravel roads most of it parallels or is an asphalt path near 1A. Here is a map of the Jungle Trail. You will notice Wabasso Beach Road to the south of the red "A" marker (you have to grab the map and move it up). This is the road to the intersection by the resort.

I think that that would be a far bike ride personally. We live in the area, and to me that seems like a long-ish distance on a bike unless you really like to ride bikes! Also, you'd have to go over the bridge to get to the inlet beach, so that is a long pedal up.
