Hi all, am thinking of making ressies @ Vero Beach and am wondering if anyone can give me clues as to the differant types of rooms. There are only me, my DH and DD who is three so i think a studio will be fine for us. I'm confused as to the differance between the "inn" and the studios. As usual, thanks for all of your help. Also if anyone has info on the activities for younger children, that would help also

Most pictures you see are of the main building which is the Inn. Rooms here are quite spacious and include the same kitchnette set-up as the studios. You get 2 queen beds in the Inn and a queen bed and a sofa pullout in the studio. By booking an Oceanview Inn room you will be guaranteed an ocean view. All Inn Rooms and Studios have balconies.

Studios are located in the Villa buildings. These are on either side of the Inn. One bedrooms and 2 bedrooms are also available here. The 3-bedroom Grand Villas are actually free-standing beach houses that run along the oceanside "front" of the resort next to the dunes. These all have oceanviews from the 2nd floor. Studio, 1 & 2 bedrooms are not guaranteed ocean views because of their locations BUT everyone is only steps from the ocean. A natural dune prevents oceanviews at street level.

Thanks Pam. I guess my next question would be....what is the differance between an Inn and Studio other than the bed situations. I guess my main concern would be views and proximity to pools, rec rooms, etc. Thanks in advance. <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="razz">

The resort is so small that you aren't ever far from anything. If you are standing on the beachside of the resort facing the Inn to the left would be the restaurants at the end of the Inn, then the pool and recreation area and then a cluster of villas. To the right side of the Inn is another cluster of villas and also the tent used for wedding receptions and other events. The beach houses run all along the beach perimeter. To walk from one end of the resort to the other would be about 10 minutes tops. Everything you need is in the middle so 5 minutes (and that seems a little long). ;)

The Inn rooms either face the ocean or what they call "garden view" which includes looking out across A1A to the Indian River. I haven't been in one of these rooms but I don't see any problem with them (except not seeing the ocean). Because of the shape of the building the rooms and the size of the balconies can vary but all are pretty spacious.

I haven't stayed in a studio so I can't tell you the exact differences. I just know that an ocean view wouldn't be guaranteed in these rooms.

Not sure if you've looked at http://disney.go.com/DisneyVacationClub/resorts/vero/index.html

Take a look at the photo album and virtual tour. It'll give you a rough idea of the resort.

I just noticed when I looked at this that it says a studio would have the bed/sofa bed OR 2 queen beds. I didn't realize they had both in the studios.

We stayed in a 1 BR in December, room 1440 on the third floor and had a great ocean view. I do agree that it isn't guaranteed but any of the 3rd floor rooms had ocean views it looked like to us. We originally were going to stay in the Inn because of the ocean views but since we went in value season the points we used for the 1 br weren't that much more and it was great to have that jacuzzi. We loved VB! It was very guiet and relaxing.

thanks CeeJay, I was questioning the differance due to the fact that I would really WANT the ocean view. Your comments have helped tremendously

We are doing our first visit this June and MS helped me when making ressies for a good ocean view (Arizonans don't know what oceans are; we just have the sand! :D ), so we got an Oceanview Inn room with request for the third floor. We'll see what we actually get! Can't wait! :D

Kathy, that funny noise you'll hear?....waves. ;)

the studios are shaped differently than the inn rooms. the studios are sort of "U" shaped, with the sofa and bed in the first part of the "U" and the kitchenette and bathroom on the other part of the "U"

We have always stayed in one of the Inn rooms. We especially like a corner room we got last time. It was very spacious and had a pull out sofa. We faced the pool and it was very nice. VB is awesome. Enjoy
