My DH and I are going to Vero Beach for the first time next week to celebrate our 34th anniversary. Any tips for us, like what to do or see? Any suggestions on where to eat. We were looking online at a restaurant that I believe is called Ocean Breeze that looked really nice. This is my first post. I visit the disboards all the time but have never posted before.
Welcome to Posting on the DISboards!
I can't suggest any restaurants (we just don't eat out much), but you will find VB to be very special. It is a small resort that has pretty much everything. There are four places to get food at VB... Sonya's, never eaten there because it is too expensive for us. Shutters, we've eaten there once and gotten take-out on many occasions to take up to our room. It is good food and good portions, in fact we tend to get two salads and one entree to split. The Green Cabin Room... this is bar/light fare with live entertainment nightly. Lastly, Bleachers, which is a bar/grille by the poolside with a limited, but variety of selections for lunch and dinner meals.
We just celebrated our 34th also. Congratulations! We're fortunate.
VB has a nice pool with a cool and fast slide. We love to walk the beach at night and at sunrise. Across the street is a lake and a little wildlife trail along with tennis courts, basketball courts, and a soccer field. You can fish in the lake, but it is expected to be catch and release. There are a couple of charcoal grilles and picnic tables over there too.
You will find it nice that you can establish your spot on the beach (easily) and you are just a minute walk away from the pool, restaurants, and your room. We setup on the beach and move back and forth as we feel ready.
If you are staying in an INN room your laundry is on the fourth floor. If you are staying in a studio your laundry is on the garage level. If you are staying in a 1 or 2 bedroom you will have you own laundry and kitchen.
The studios and Inn rooms have a bar sink, fridge, toaster, and microwave.
Really, the nicest thing about VB is that everything is just a minute walk away.
Just relax and enjoy...
