Verizon - central MA - anyone else having trouble?

on hold w/Verizon right now
when i was home at lunchtime there was no dial tone

No phone troubles here and we have 4 lines that come into the phone here.

We had trouble with Verizon the last two weekends. Sometimes we had a dial tone, sometimes not. Sometimes we could receive calls, sometimes not. We called for repair the first time, and the phone started working before the repair guy came so we cancelled. It happened again the following weekend.

It seems that because of all the rain some rust got into the outside box and onto the wire. The guy had to get off the corrosion. It works fine now.

I've always had problems with Verizon here in NH. I reported them the Public Uitilies Commission and, miraculousy, haven't had a problem since. It's been a horror show with this company and the second AT&T offers local in my area I'm shipping Verizon their box back with some "presents" from my three cats.

Ha, ha...in my case, my problem is constantly crossed lines, so it's "Can you hear me now?" Yes....and so can the entire neighborhood! Do you know how hard it is to try and handle business without giving out a SS# or a mother's maiden name? I have to tell them that my line is not secure and I don't feel comfortable giving out that information. I pay $40. a month for THAT!
