I went to the comptroller site and finally found I am in their system...

but it still lists the other persons name too

Why is this? Will that go away?

No. The deed should read as a transfer of ownership to you. The transaction of the transfer from prior owner to you has to be on record. You should be listed as the Grantee.

well there should be a listing with them as a grantee, then one as them as the grantor and you as the grantee.

Their original transaction will not go away.
