Verification Code on the MDE app

Today I have had a couple of my hard to get reservations pop up available, however when I went to select the time on the app, it is sending a verification code to my email that I have to enter before I can proceed. I lost a couple of my most sought after reservations. Is this new? It normally auto logs me in when I open the app, and it has never asked for a verification code before. Any knowledge or help is appreciated.

I have not been sent verification codes, but I do notice that I have to sign back in every time I go to look for reservations now.

I needed a verification code over half the times I opened the MDE app while at WDW last week. At some other times the app logged me in automatically, and sometimes I needed to enter my username and password, but no verification. I couldn’t figure out a pattern to when verification was needed.
