Does anyone have concerns having a verandah room with two little kids? I have two very active DS (ages 4 and 5). I know the door locks, but the thought of them and the verandah makes me a little nervous.......

The verandah's either have plexiglass from the railing down, or metal and the railing is fairly high (if you are sitting in the chair on a verandah you cannot see over the railing). As long as the kids are supervised when out on the verandah, I wouldn't expect a major problem.

For additional safety with little ones, you might want to consider a Navigators Verandah (Cat. 7). It is more enclosed, with a small opening, and the furniture is fixed in place so a child can't drag a chair for climbing. We had a Nav. Veranah on the Magic once and really liked it...very cozy and private.

I think they will only let you have 3 people in a Navigator's
verandah room. Is that correct? We will have 4 people.

If you are afraid of the kids opening the door without you knowing it check your local electronics store for a door alarm. I know that they used to carry them at Radio Shack. You just hang it on the handle and the alarm will sound if door is moved. I believe it does have an on/off button and it was in the price range of $15-$25.
For piece of mind you might just want to see if you can find one or something like it. I cannot imagine that they are not made anymore.

Yes, the Category 7 only sleeps 3 people.

The verandah doors have a safety lock that is high up on the door and is somewhat challenging to figure out. As long as you keep the door locked while you're not on the verandah, and supervise your kids while the door is open... you should have no problem.

Shucks, the door itself is challenging to figure out - it took us about 20 minutes to figure out that it slid open rather than swung (it looked like a door that would swing - you know how it is, sometimes those doors just look like they would just be real swingin' doors!)
