We're in stateroom 6528 - does anyone know what kind of railings it has? Also, why would you want one or the other?
Thanks,
Karen

Looks like yours is plexiglass...here is the complete listing...

Most Category 3's have transparent verandah railings. Rooms 8100, 8102, 8600, and 8602 have solid-wall verandah railings.

Most Category 4's have transparent verandah railings. Rooms 8088-8094 and 8594-8598 have solid-wall verandah railings.

Most Category 5's have transparent verandah railings. Rooms 7130-7138 and 7630-7638 have solid-wall verandah railings.

Navigator's Verandahs” have full solid outside walls except for an open-air window-sized cut-out.

7120 and 7620 are former Category 5's that have full views partially obstructed by the ship's structure.

Most Category 6's have transparent verandah railings. Rooms 6144-6154 and 6644-6654 have solid-wall verandah railings.

6134 and 6634 are former Category 6's that have full views partially obstructed by the ship's structure.

Most Category 6's have transparent verandah railings. Rooms 5142-5150 and 5642-5650 have solid-wall verandah railings.

As for your question about "wanting" the metal railing vice the plexiglass and rail - it isn't a matter of wanting...the aft verandahs have full metal "wall" for the verandah wall. the other ones are in the front of the ship and they have metal bars with plexiglass covering them.

Both are completely safe. Personally, I prefer the plexiglass because you can sit in the chair or even in your stateroom and still see that beautiful water passing by!
