Vera Bradley ??

I wanted to get my DD the Vera Bradley "Vera" for school this year. I have been waiting for them to have a good sale, I was too slow on the one they had at the beginning of the summer. Anyway the sale colors are still $59.99. Is there another Vera Bradley bag that is similar in size to the "Vera" that would work for a middle schooler??

Check EBay...My DD uses the Vera as her school bag and I've gotten the last two there at cheaper prices than the sale prices online.

This one is probabaly more expensive but I absolutely love the Curved Tote. That would work better than the Vera I think!

The curved tote has just been discontinued and reduced to 40% off.

If you do decide to go the e-bay route, I have both the Vera and the Tic Tac Tote in Large. They are about the same size. The Vera is taller and narrower than the Large Tic Tac but they both hold about the same amount of stuff. I can 5 or 6 beach towels (depends upon how large they are), a 20 oz. bottle of soda, a book, a bottle of sunscreen and some small pool toys, plus my keys, cellphone and zip ID in either bag with only a little bit of "stuffing" to get the last towel in. The Vera (at least the older ones) does have a lot more slip pockets.

My daughter uses the Vera for her school bag for HS and it is great. It is 2 years old and looks perfect, even after much abuse. I would 2nd checking ebay, they have some good VB deals.

I agree with checking ebay. I have a large collection of Vera Bradely (as in they have their own closet stuffed on shelves in a spare bedroom.) and most of them I have gotten on ebay. Some of them have been really nice, but used, but alot have been brand new with tags. They've all been alot cheaper than the VB site or at the store.

My favorite find lately was the brand new with tags Puccini mini hipster I got for .99. The guy's shipping was really high, so no one else bid on it. I didn't care though, because I got it here for $12.99. lol

The vera outlets in PA and MA will ship- I think it is a flat fee of $8.

I go to the Philadelphia Premium Outlets in Limerick/Pottstown, PA. I was just there on Saturday but I didn't check the price on the Vera. I got mine for $28.99 on opening day in June when they had an extra 25% off everything. There is an extra 25% off one item coupon in the outlet VIP booklet that you can get for joining the VIP club (online for free).

I go about once every 2 months. The best deals they had were on the 4th of July - the whole store was 30% off plus they took my 25% off coupon from the VIP booklet off every item (normally they stick to just one item). I got SO MUCH stuff for about $45!

Last weekend they had a free all-in-one-wristlet or large cosmetic bag with any $50 purchase, but no extra % off. I only got 2 things- a beach towel for $15 (they had been $12 at one time online so I didn't think that was a great deal - but I wanted it & used my 25% off on it) and I got the new square tech organizer case - it's neat - not sure what I will use it for, but it was only $14.99, and is usually $38. They had the newer 4 patterns (not new fall) - Watercolor, English Meadow, etc. That was the first time all summer they had those newer ones.

It's sick, I'm like an addict when I walk in that outlet, grabbing things frantically like they're going to go away or something....then I huddle in a corner of the store & go through the 25 items in my shopping bag & see what I really need (ok, want) versus what was an impulse buy!

I know what you mean, i feel like that when i go in to the Coach outlet, but then again i have never been in the Vera Bradley outlet, so that could mean trouble too

I did call them and they seem to have a lot of patterns in the store. They said they are having 25% off this weekend, and yes i can use the additional 25% coupon in the VIP booklet (which i am apparently already a member of)

I did look on ebay, but did not see any "Vera's"

I love The Tote even more than my Vera. I have The Tote in at least 6 or 7 patterns - that's what I use as my everyday purse/bag. I use The Vera for traveling, for my pool bag or when I need to take a lot of things to work.

I was at the outlet in Limerick, PA today and it was insanity. I didn't buy anything but may go back at an odder hour to try again. The store was 25% off, everything. There is also another 25% off a single item in the VIP coupon booklet. It doesn't say you can't combine. I want to say the tote was $47 or $43 before the discount? Have fun, good luck! Insane crowds there today but I did really well at Ann Taylor, Talbots and Brooks Brothers!
