I'm hoping someone can help me.....I'm looking at the VB Mailbag on the Vera website...they have some terrific deals.

Has anyone used this at Disney ? I did buy the Hipster a while back and returned it because it didn't seem like it would hold my wallet, camera, ponchos and the assorted junk I lug for my family. It's not an overload of stuff though, don't get me wrong. But the ponchos take up some space. It seemed like I'd have to cram everything in to make it fit.

The mailbag measurements aren't too far from the hipster except deeper. I like the look of it though and that it has a zipper on the outside flap. ( for park tickets....it probably wasn't intended for that, but it would be perfect)

Anyway, I had about resigned myself to bring my VB Backpack until I saw this. I like that you can wear it across your body for hands free...

So any suggestions are ALWAYS appreciated !! :goodvibes TIA !!!!

It's too big for me to wear at the parks, but I like lightweight and small! The Hipster is too big for me. The mailbag is pretty big and doesn't fit as close to the body as the Hipster, in my opinion if you think the Hipster is not big enough, maybe the small backpack.

I was thinking of ordering the Mailbag for the parks too but decided against it. I finally found one in a store so that I could try it on and see how it "fit." I was really glad I did. I'm short (about 5'3") and Pooh-sized and had trouble with the flap on the front being a hindrance when I tried to get something out of the main compartment of the bag. A taller (or skinnier) person might not have this problem but for me it was a deal breaker.

We ended up cancelling our trip so I still haven't bought a new bag for the parks. But I'm thinking about trying Saddle Up next time. It has the longer strap and looks like it will hold quite a bit more than the Hipster. I don't plan to carry that much stuff but I hate everything being so crammed into the bag that I have to almost completely unpack it to get the one thing I need. Hopefully Saddle UP will work nicely.

I have a mailbag and I don't really like it. It is heavy compared to some of the other VB bags because it has a big flap that comes over the front of the bag (unnecessary material-I would say). You might be better off with a backpack, although I don't like the new large ones. The laptop holder takes up a lot of space.

wow you definitely don't travel light hehe. I'd make the hubby or kids carry a small bag and stick with the hipster. I hate cumbersome bags while at the parks.

thanks everyone ! I think I'll just stick w/ my backpack then. It doesn't sound like the mailbag is a great option. I definately don't want something that's too cumbersome, that's for sure.

I really don't bring a ton into the parks, but with a 4 year old, you do have stuff you need to bring along....and I'm not going to make her carry stuff. :goodvibes Now, my Dh ....he'll carry his stuff in his cargo pockets. But, with bringing a little one, I can't leave a bag behind.

I use the one I have, but I am not crazy about it and it is because of that big flap on the front. If you put something in that small pocket on the front, it will come undone and flap around. It does hold alot in side and I usually use it for our drive to Disney where I use either a backpack, a hipster, or a mini hipster. The mailbag is very awkward.

I love my VB backpack, haven't seen the new one, except online. I got one of the Mesa Red when it was retiring and I use it on most trips, it holds everything.

When I use the mini hipster, I am only carrying my rooms key and a little money. I don't lug ponchos if I don't have to and I use an ECV, so those get put in the basket on the front.

The regular hipster will hold alot as well.

You need to let your family keep up with their own stuff, unless of course they are young children.

I used a nylon Ameribag Healthy back bag in the park and loved it, it felt weightless. I couldn't have fit everything in the hipster, I don't think. Like where would you put your water bottle?

I checked out a mail bag in the store and yeah, hated that flap

I have the mailbag, I like it.....as it is crossbody and bigger, but, the flap is a bit cumbersome.

I definitely will not be taking it to the parks.

Nothing beats my Bagellini so I keep it just for the parks! Super light and pockets for everything. Plus it's durable, I've used it for 8 years now.

With a four year old, I'd take a stroller and leave stuff like ponchos in there! That's my strategy!

Haven't used it for Disney yet, but I plan to--it is my new MUST bag for vacations. Used it for a trip to the Southwest last spring. It held everything we needed for our hikes--sun hats, ponchos, sunblock, a water bottle-plus all the usual bag items like camera, wallet, etc. It was great to be able to wear it across my chest and give my shoulder a break from bearing all the weight.

I LOVE it!

I have large, and small bp, and the mail bag (not the messenger bag) If it were me I would go with the small bp. If you live near Wrentam Ma they have a VB outlet and the mail bag was 29 less 25% so I paid about 23 for it.
