Hey has anyone seen the new hipster from VB? It's larger than the mini-hipster. I was wondering if it would be better than the mini for the parks? Just looking for opinions ... before I go shopping! :)

I used mine for my trip in April. It worked great. It was light weight, but had plenty of room for everything I needed. I liked that I could put it over my head & 1 shoulder, so I didn't have to hold on to it. I was able to ride most rides w/it this way. I saw ALOT of people using the hipster bag. DD loved spotting someone w/the same bag or same print as mine. Enjoy your trip!

I don't know how to tell which are the new ones. I just got the Hipster in the Kensington Print from ebags.com last week tho. It's not the mini. I can say that it's a nice size and very comfortable to carry. I don't think I want it getting wet in the rain storms in FL tho.

I love the new hipster!! I have an older hipster (it's about 2 years old) so it's about the same size (or larger) than the new hipster. It works perfectly for me in the parks!! Personally I feel that the mini is too small. I would definitley choose the new hipster over the mini.

Good luck and happy shopping!! pixiedust:

I just used the mini hipster for our trip and I really liked it. Last year's Coach bag bothered my neck because the straps were too thick. I didn't carry too much - DH had a small backpack with ponchos and water, but I really loved my mini hipster. so light!

:lovestruc Just used the Mini on a trip to Washington DC. Liked it so much that I bought one for my Mama and MIL and another one for me when I got home. IMO the mini are for those who maybe don't have children to tote things for, or for women who don't carry a lot, like makeup. The mini held my camera, IPOD, earphones, map, cell phone and money, including ID and CCards. It was great. I am plus size and short and it hit my hip fine and was very comfy. Another reason to purchase one for my Mom was the fact that she has had 2 back surgeries and always carries a purse. Now she can have a small bag that should be fine all day in the parks. The cord did not bother my neck and the velcro flap stayed closed. Just ordered a Hipster for a family member and it was not as big as I had imagined. It would be great for you if you need to pack ponchos or a small bottle of water, or wipes. I do not have children so I thought the mini was great for me to sightsee .:thumbsup2

Good point about the height thing Toddylu!!

That reminds me: I've found that the hipster looks a bit over powering on some shorter gals but the mini looks perfect! Like Toddylu said, the mini is good for people w/o kids or who don't have a lot to carry.

I'd say if you are under 5'5 and are concerned about the hipster looking right on you, opt for the mini.

Either way, they are both great bags!! :)

(For those wondering about my opinions on these bags- my mom is a Vera Bradley retailer and I work at her store.. so I've seen a variety of women buying these bags :) )

Hmm I know my DD loves seeing others w/ the same VB bag I have now . . . and I like the way u can carry it over the shoulder . . .

I hadn't thought about the rain:umbrella: . . . hmmm well I would have a poncho . . .

My DH is going to use our ameribag, he really likes it. And I'm thinking of having my DD use a fanny pack to carry some of her things princess: . . . So perhaps I'd be alright with the mini . . .

Well now I'm just going to have to go shopping and try it for myself! ;)

;) Ebags has several of the mini and hipsters for really great prices. If you need a wallet with your mini I would recommend the pocket wallet. I have one for one of my minis and it fits perfectly. I have ordered VB bags from VB and Ebags and have been very satisfied.:lovestruc

I found the hipster to be too big for me so I mailed it back... Guess it depends on how much you plan on carrying around.

ebags had hipsters on sale...

In my mini hipster I can easily carry our room cards, hand sanitizer, couple of poncho's, lip balm, etc...

I have the new hipster in Puccinni and can't wait to take it to WDW. My dd has the mini that she used on a trip earlier this summer to DC and plan on her using it at WDW. For her, it should hold her cell phone, autograph book & pen and ipod.

Thanks to all you enablers, I just got myself the mini hipster in Java Blue yesterday! Had to go to two different stores (they were all sold out of the color), but I was able to get the one that I wanted! Cant wait to go to Disney and use it!:cool1:

Glad to be an enabler!!! :thumbsup2

Enjoy! I am still as of yet undecided about the mini or the reg hipster . . . :confused3

How about going to their site to get the dimensions of each one. The hipster was waayyy to big for me. Or, you can go to a store that carries vera to see the sizes for yourself then order it online in a discontinued pattern for the extra savings.

And if this is your first purchase of VB stuff I would bet it won't be your last. Beware!

GrumpyMom it isn't my first VB . . . I have some already  . . . and I know it WON'T be my last!!;)

I see you're from Jersey as well ... do you shop for VB items at stores as well as online? I have friends (not in NJ) who keep telling me they pick up VB items 1/2 off in shops in their area. I've yet to find a place in Central Jersey that puts her items on sale. It's very depressing.
